Drawing us in with ethereal vocals singing the title of track, Bildjan opens Stranger with sublime vocals from Fe Maletiz with super atmospheric production as she takes us on a narrative based adventure with the prose, “Walking down the empty street, heart is drumming, skipping beats, I see a stranger in the night…”

The opus expands to showcase a tale of connection between two individuals, the protagonist of the track and indeed a stranger. The synth production is out of this world – astral, bold and immersive. The lyricism has a sense of timelessness, tapping into the adage of “stranger danger”, but also inviting us into an intimate and almost forbidden moment between the two subjects.

Speaking on the release of Stranger, Bildjan confesses, “The song explores the magic and uncertainty of a brief but intense connection with someone unknown — a night charged with possibility, emotion, and questions that may never be answered.” He adds how the song taps into notions of “romantic intrigue, mystery, and fleeting connection under the cover of night.”

There is no doubt that the song would be perfect for a number of synch deals – perhaps a Hollywood blockbuster, a sequel to Stranger by the Lake or even an HBO TV show where the scene brings to life the narrative of the track.

We learn that the creative duo’s music is designed to blends electronic and indie-pop influences, which certainly comes to life! For Stranger, Bildjan and Fe Maletiz were inspired by artists like ODESZA, CHVRCHES, and Robyn, with moody undertones reminiscent of Massive Attack and James Blake.

Lyrically and sonically, they explore themes of emotion and mystery, drawing from dream-pop and cinematic influences like Lana Del Rey and The xx, whilst incorporating modern electro-pop and retro grooves in the style of Flume or Kaytranada.
