On a video level, Beyonce partnered with a lot of the same collaborators that brought to life BEYONCE visually including Jonas and Bea Ackerlund, Khalil Joseph and Melina Matsoukas. Shot primarily in New Orleans adds a sense of dark nostalgic sentiment which is consistent through the story arch of LEMONADE. Poetry featured includes Somali-British Poet Warsan Shire and Nigerian writer Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.

Personal favourite sonic highlights include Daddy Lessons, 6 Inch with The Weeknd, which despite the rather saturated market sounds, still feels fresh, Forward featuring James Blake(!) and Freedom with Kendrick. The Kanye sound you hear on Love Drought is of course Mike Dean. Also, special congrats have to go to my boy MNEK for Hold Up and Wynter Gordon who wrote three songs on the record (Don’t Hurt Yourself, Sorry and Daddy Lessons).

Seeing the public reaction has been so interesting over the last (less than) 24 hours – from confusion to outright ignorance, but hey, welcome to Amerikkka. Thank you Beyonce for existing and bringing this body of work and message to the forefront at the same time as showcasing your poetic artistry.

Here is a 30-second clip showing Jay-Z with Madonna, Beyonce, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Calvin Harris, Jack White, Kanye West, Jason Aldean, Daft Punk and Coldplay’s Chris Martin seated for a meeting – a music summit to shape change, TIDAL change.

TIDAL is dubbed High Fidelity Music Streaming, promoting “lossless” music – details of perfection, amplifying everything that an mp3 file removes from the sonic experience. It’s a step towards a more artist driven construct in an industry where the commercial balance has shifted significantly.

As premiered just now on NOWNESS, here it eh first in a trilogy of videos from Jay-Z and Beyonce playing two American outlaws and directed by the New York-based filmmaker and photographer Dikayl Rimmasch with a gripping soundtrack by Ennio Morricone.

Beyonce and Nicki Minaj just unveiled a remix of my favourite song from BEYONCE. Here’s ***Flawless, reworked lyrically – referencing Solange-gate with “of course some shit goes down when there’s a billion dollars in an elevator”. I mean, this is hip hop artistry at its finest. Nicki’s verse sees a mixed pace – it has been a long time since we have heard her rap like this – profoundly, eloquently, I mean – saving the fire for a Beyonce track makes sense. All in all, it is brilliant – let’s hope there is a video to accompany it.

Since the unexpected and somewhat epic arrival of BEYONCÉ, there have been a fair few thirstyunofficial remixes that have surfaced, but in fact the label has been pretty strict on offering out the parts for anything official. Monsieur Adi had the honour and pleasure of re-working Grown Woman, which you can listen to here – and now it is London-based producer and nightlife entrepreneur, Jodie Harsh’s turn with the legit and official remix of BLOW. Jodie has literally turned that cherry OUT. The remix is immense and so unsurprisingly brilliant taking the Pharrell-penned production and uniquely sensual lyrical content to the next level, infusing it with strong house beats that will turn your gym, bedroom or wherever you end up playing it into a hedonistic parallel universe drenched in sex.
