New York producer Belanger (you will recognise some of his epic remixes including Neon Lights by Demi Lovato and mashups), releases his debut single “Calico” an instrumental track poised at pushing the boundaries of pop singles needing a vocal to carry the melody. Calling from the darkness, “Calico” blends etheric synths atop heart-beating vintage 808 drums. It was also just premiered in the UK on Radio 1.

Matt is a friend of mine from Brooklyn and this marks the beginning of a new era of music, sonically and visually for him (and us!). It is music innovation at its finest. Speaking unequivocally objectively, Belanger is one to watch this year. Buy it on iTunes here.
