Establishing the mood with a brooding drone sound, akin to a didgeridoo, like the start of a cosmic ceremony, Matreya opens Be Love with intrigue, before expanding into a vibrant dance-pop vibe with syncopated drums as he sings, “A higher power we believe in, this vibration needs no reason, a state of you which ceaselessly nourishes what comes to be, be love…”

Be Love evolves like a mantra. It serves as a spiritual anthem that calls us all to embody divine energy. The repeated hook manifests as both invocation and meditation. In essence, it is an invitation to dissolve ego, pride and mental noise, and delivers an invitation to align with a higher frequency.

Love here is a pure vibration. It is a universal state, and the song’s message suggests that true spirituality isn’t just found through external rituals or beliefs, but instead through becoming the essence of love itself.

Lyrics like “It does not turn away your sin…” and “Your troubles wash away within…” truly reflect notions of forgiveness and acceptance. The rising artist and reiki practitioner reminds us that love doesn’t judge or divide.

The star’s vocal performance is transcendental – it is perfect for music festivals like Medicine or Secret Garden Party. As the rhythm and repetition build, Be Love transforms into a meditative experience. Matreya tells us, “Be Love is a song born from an ancient message, as old as the universe itself. The story of love has been told countless times, but here it ripples beyond romance into the very principle that brings life into being. I wanted this track to feel like a shamanic celebration – a carnival on a spaceship – an otherworldly reminder that the answer to our deepest questions has always been simple: Be Love.”

Matreya first captured the nation’s attention as Mason Noise on The X Factor UK in 2015. This is where his fearless performances and bold presence made him one of the show’s most talked-about contestants.

Since re-emerging in 2025, he has evolved into a spiritually-minded, genre-blending artist. He has released acclaimed singles like Eagles and I Saw The Light, which earned support from BBC Introducing and Amazing Radio. Beyond music, he also hosts a podcast featuring global spiritual leaders, whilst his #WeBeLove movement encourages acts of kindness and unity.

We have added Be Love to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS and TRIPPY playlists, whilst we continue to stream the wider discography of Matreya, and anticipate future releases from the consciously astute star.
