Through the lens of Karl Lagerfeld, artist and timeless CHANEL/Lagerfeld muse Baptiste Giabiconi poses for brand’s pre-fall 2013 collection campaign. It’d be interesting to see if Unkle Karl shoots with Marlon Teixeira for SS14 as he recently walked for the brand in Paris. Again, the dark, solemn artistry of the shoot below are almost refreshing as a desexualised Giabiconi takes on more of his grittier guise as a music artist versus his cleaner apparition as a model.

digital exhibition: karl lagerfeld and carine roitfeld present la petite veste noire/the little black jacket

Creative icons Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld have teamed up to create a book and digital exhibition featuring one star – the little black Chanel jacket. That which, according to Lagerfeld, “symbolises a timelessly fashionable form of nonchalant feminine elegance: [which] belongs to every era”.

The exhibition features over a hundred models and celebrities, all photographed by Karl Lagerfeld and styled by Carine Roitfeld. These include Sarah Jessica Parker, Daphne Guinness, Georgia May Jagger, Alice Dellal, Maïwenn, Laetitia Casta, Virginie Ledoyen, Baptiste Giabiconi, Uma Thurman, Kirsten Dunst, Akuol de Mabior and more. The images for the project were shot in Cannes, in the South of France, and then in New York, before finishing up in Paris in Karl Lagerfeld’s studio. Here is Unkle Karl posing in a room made entirely of chocolate – 10.5 tonnes of Belgian to be exact, along with a seductive chocolate statue of supermodel/muse Baptiste Giabiconi – to celebrate the partnership.
