Speaking on the release, AZA (US) confesses, “I believe this song has personal meaning and it is a song that is open to interpretation. The melody is also powerful where it would draw someone in.”

AZA continues on a philosophical level, “This was influenced by past, present, and future. Specifically, my past, present, and future. In the hook, I [sing] ‘There is no contusion, feelings of seclusion’. I’m talking about in my life when I had a concussion/whiplash and when I was dealing with feeling secluded in the mental hospitals in my twenties. The whole concept of ‘Time’ is saying how can we get ‘Time; back in essence or even change events to never have occurred.”

AZA (US)‘s timbre is captivating, and we can imagine the track locking in a sync placement for a movie like a sequel to Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. It is also perfect to listen to when you need to connect with source, or start your day with a conscious re-up.

Elaborating on her influences, AZA (US) adds, “Prince directly influenced me with this track. I was thinking of his song Sign ‘O’ the Times. I gave a shoutout to him at the one part of the song where I said, I wonder in wonder in ruins of SIGN, how do you know time?’.” We love this nod to Prince, and can imagine that he would definitely connect with AZA (US)‘s intentional message.
