Just over a month ago, a set of Mert & Marcus images for the Gucci AW11 campaign were released. They were amazing, but it was in the midst of about six other Mert & Marcus campaigns/editorials that surfaced around the same time, so I wanted to wait before the video (also directed by the duo) came to light. Here it is showcasing Frida Giannini’s “dramatic dresses and exotic accessories”.

Regular readers will know how much of a fan I am of a breathtaking visual, there are some shoots (normally by big gun photographers a la Steven Klein, Lagerfeld, Richardson) that catch your eye and go down in history, however there are often flawless examples of when lesser known fashion photographer and stylist capture the perfect essence of what is on trend for a season (here it is AW11).

The most recent shoot for online magazine ACCESS FASHION is called “Fall Into Colour 11” and features Hannah H shot by Jay McLaughlin and styled by Sabina Emrit. Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott are flawless icons, we already know this, but the Versace AW11 campaign images with the incredible Sean O’Pry and Saskia de Brauw further cements this fact. I am sure that Versace would be sharing the images on Facebook right now, if their page hadn’t been pulled due to the rather intense, but very valid campaign against sandblasting.
