In anticipation of tonight’s punk-themed Costume Institute annual MET Gala (see the full set of red carpet looks here), New York magazine released a cover that was originally under consideration (pre Boston bombings) featuring Anna Wintour as a punk, illustrated by Darrow. La Wintour ended up wearing floral CHANEL couture, but this cover is literally giving everything.

NY Deja Vu: A film by Lele Saveri

This is all kinds of genius. NY photographer and videographer Lele Saveri took a “documentarian” look and what happens during New York Fashion Week. From the runway to the sidewalk, the short captures NYFW from a total insider’s perspective, providing a contrast to the high-gloss of how fashion is delivered to the consumer digitally. Ny Deja Vu is raw and real, and also features some awesome appearances by Bono, A$AP Rocky, Lindsey Wixson, Anna Wintour, Nicola Formichetti, ATL twins, Terence Koh, Carmen Electra, Chloe Sevigny and Terry Richardson.

There are few opportunities when fashion’s biggest guns are photographed together. This editorial ‘Puffy Takes Paris’ for US Vogue came out in 2000 i.e. pre-blog/blogosphere, so is a rare find. I figured posting it was apt because (a) the Anna Wintour ‘Boss Woman’ documentary from 2000 produced by the BBC has been getting some digital buzz lately (you can and must watch it in full under the cut), (b) Diddy is in Godney’s new remix video for Scream & Shout as he features on the track, which is out on Friday, and finally (c) because we’re all really excited for the return of Galliano, right? Right.

So here is the editorial featuring Puff Daddy (now Diddy), Kate Moss, Jean Paul Gaultier, Karl Lagerfeld, Oscar de la Renta, Alek Wek and John Galliano photographed by Annie Leibovitz under the fashion direction of Grace Coddington.

As far as pop culture collaborations go, you cannot get much bigger than Diddy and Anna Wintour. December 14th marks the launch of P. Diddy’s latest album and homage to fashion – Last Train To Paris. The whole album is fashion-inspired and even industry icons including Talley, Marc Jacobs, Isaac Mizrahi and Anna Wintour herself, who lent their voices to spoken-word pieces that run between songs: This is Anna Wintour from Vogue magazine.
