Tom Ford Launches Atelier d’Orient: Four More Private Blends
Published May 28, 2013As if gallons of Tobacco Vanille, Oud Wood and Tuscan Leather weren’t enough. Tom Ford has unveiled four new Private Blends (available exclusively from today at Selfridges) inspired by Asia called Atelier d’Orient (Oriental Workshop).
In true Tom Ford lyrical perfection, he said, “This collection is the quintessence of Private Blend; it is an olfactory exploration of Asia with its fusion of cultures, its influences as well as a rediscovery of its most precious ingredients. Atelier d’Orient is an artisan collection which captures the most exquisite traits of Asia: its elegant discretion, its mastery of refinement even in the smallest details and its classic eroticism.”
Obviously. Full details under the cut.

MRPORTER.COM + Raf Simons
Published May 28, 2013As part of a series of exclusive design partnerships this summer, MR PORTER.COM just unveiled its partnership with Raf Simons on an exclusive floral capsule collection. The collaboration is alongside that of French designer Alexandre Mattiusi which went live last week (see image under the cut and more here) on a 13 piece capsule and the eponymous Alexander Wang on a collection which is set to launch next Tuesday 4th June.
The Raf Simons collection is pretty colour heavy (most of you know that I am a monochrome advocate), it features hand-painted prints on t-shirts and sweats, plus formalwear including a blazer and white shirt, and unsurprisingly high top sneakers. I do love the shorts and printed navy bomber jacket though. The nod to the Cobain era comes through strong once again…remember the Nirvana audio extracts from the SS13 film by Pierre Debusschere?
