The idea of Amazon buying physical books, scanning them for artificial intelligence, and then destroying the originals sounds like something from a dystopian science-fiction novel. Yet it reflects a growing anxiety about what happens when the world’s accumulated knowledge becomes raw material for increasingly powerful AI systems.

Books have always been more than containers of information. They are physical objects that preserve history, culture, individual voices, and ideas across generations. A digital scan can reproduce the words, but it cannot entirely reproduce the experience of owning a particular edition, discovering notes in its margins, or finding a forgotten volume decades later on a library shelf.

The prospect of purchasing books specifically to digitize their contents raises difficult questions about ownership and copyright. If a company acquires a physical copy, does that give it the right to transform the book into machine-readable data? What happens when millions of books are processed not for readers, but to build systems capable of generating new text, images, and ideas?

There is also an environmental and cultural question. Once a book has been scanned, its physical existence may appear unnecessary to a corporation focused on efficiency. From that perspective, the paper, ink, storage space, and transportation involved in maintaining physical collections can look like costs rather than cultural assets.

But libraries have never existed simply because digital storage was unavailable. They exist because society decided that knowledge should remain accessible, discoverable, and preserved. A warehouse full of servers can contain vastly more information than a traditional library, yet the two represent very different ideas about how knowledge should belong to society.

The most unsettling version of this future is not necessarily one in which books disappear overnight. It is one in which physical books gradually become valuable only as sources of data, while ownership of the resulting digital knowledge becomes concentrated among a small number of technology companies.

AI may ultimately help preserve humanity’s written record on an unprecedented scale. But if the process requires treating books as disposable fuel for machines, society must decide what is gained, what is lost, and who gets to control the knowledge left behind.

Gwyneth Paltrow’s reported plan to host a private dinner honouring OpenAI chief Sam Altman has raised eyebrows, not simply because of the celebrity guest list, but because it fits a striking new pattern around the Goop founder. Reports published on Wednesday say Paltrow is planning an “off-the-record” dinner for Altman at her home, with the event reportedly scheduled for August 29. The invitation has circulated online, although the underlying details remain based on reporting and social-media posts rather than an independently verified guest list.

The dinner comes as Paltrow has increasingly positioned herself at the intersection of wellness, artificial intelligence and Silicon Valley. Business Insider reports that she has invested in AI companies, including Forethought AI and Potion AI, co-founded the AI-focused Kinship Ventures, and incorporated AI into Goop’s operations. Her interest in Altman therefore looks less like a random celebrity encounter and more like another expression of her growing enthusiasm for the technology industry.

That trajectory has also brought Paltrow into contact with the defence-tech world. In June, The Goop Podcast hosted Trae Stephens, co-founder of Anduril, a company developing military technologies. Goop itself described the episode as a discussion of an industry “built around weapons and warfare.” Paltrow questioned Stephens about how he reconciles his religious beliefs with working in defence, while the conversation explored Silicon Valley’s changing relationship with national defence.

Her relationship with Israel has generated a separate controversy. In June, Paltrow appeared in an advertising campaign for 51 Park, a luxury residential development in Herzliya, Israel. The campaign explicitly presents the destination as “Herzliya, Israel,” and her participation prompted criticism from pro-Palestinian activists. Paltrow has also publicly supported Israeli hostages following Hamas’s October 7, 2023 attack and participated in a 2024 Hanukkah campaign with Israeli activist Noa Tishby.

Taken together, these episodes suggest that Paltrow’s public persona is expanding well beyond wellness. Her apparent embrace of AI, proximity to defence technology, support for Israel and reported socialising with one of Silicon Valley’s most powerful figures point toward a new elite network linking celebrity culture, technology and geopolitics. That does not establish that Paltrow shares every political or commercial position of the people around her. But it does explain why an invitation honouring Sam Altman has attracted considerably more attention than an ordinary celebrity dinner might.

Many couples try to solve bad physical connection by searching for a better way. Better angles, better timing, and better toys. The couple who’s actually feeling their closeness to each other usually doesn’t do anything technically impressive – they’re just open to being seen. Vulnerability, not skill, makes touching feel like intimacy, not just contact.

Vulnerability isn’t weakness, it’s exposure by choice

Brené Brown helped people understand vulnerability as allowing oneself to be seen without trying to manage the other person’s reaction. It’s a difficult concept to apply in a sexual context. It requires that you risk rejection when you ask for what you want. That you risk judgment when you admit fear. Most people find that too tough and so they default to performance, to trying to intuit and replicate the script for “how to do intimacy right.” The terrible thing is, performance is what actually kills intimacy. Shame is the barrier between most people and better sex, not lack of information.

Your body decides before your brain does

Feeling emotionally safe isn’t simply about being physically safe. When we feel safe, our nervous system doesn’t feel like we’re about to be attacked, judged, or rejected. It means being able to relax because we know that we won’t be put in a position where we’ll be harmed whether physically, emotionally, or psychologically. You might be in a relationship with someone who wouldn’t hurt a fly, but you don’t feel safe opening up. This is likely because there has been something in your past that has caused you to associate emotional risk with the kind of vulnerability, intimacy or closeness that emotional safety requires.

Consent is the container that makes risk safe

None of this works without a foundation of ongoing, enthusiastic consent. Not a one-time conversation you had once and filed away, but continuous checking in – reading a partner’s body, pausing when something shifts, asking again rather than assuming last time’s yes still applies. This is the part people skip because it feels like it interrupts the mood. In practice it’s the opposite: knowing you can pause, ask, or stop is what allows both people to actually relax into the moment instead of monitoring for danger.

Couples who want to push into more intense or higher-risk physical territory – anything involving power exchange, restraint, or sensation play – benefit from borrowing structure from communities that have already solved this problem. This is part of why it’s worth taking time to explore safety and consent frameworks like SSC and RACK, which were built specifically to formalize agreement so that risk becomes intentional rather than assumed. Attunement gets easier when both partners have already agreed on what safety looks like, instead of guessing in the moment.

Small bids matter more than big gestures

Research at the Gottman Institute with newlywed couples found an unsettling pattern from couples that were still married after 6 years: they responded to their partners “bids for connection” 86% of the time. The couples who were divorced responded to their partners 33% of the time. A bid is small – sharing excitement about a book, practicing touch, sharing a vulnerability. Initiating a touch is one of the most loaded bids because turning toward or turning away sends an emotional message about how available you are.

Couples that have strong physical connections aren’t celebrating birthdays every month. They are just consistently responding to each others small moments of vulnerability enough that the nervous system learns to trust the process.

Naming a desire out loud is the actual practice

If I were to pick one exercise from here that you could turn around and do today, it’s this: practice asking for what you desire, with the assumption that the answer might be no. Not suggesting. Not waiting for your partner to show up like a psychic. Actually requesting it. This simultaneously conditions your ability to handle rejection and your partner’s faith that you will survive their honest response. Every positive ‘yes, let’s do it,’ each ‘no, how about something else instead?’ builds evidence or trust in your ability to navigate a real dialogue. And it’s all of those pieces of evidence that makes the following request easier.

What performance anxiety is actually hiding

When sex or other physical intimacy isn’t feeling as good as it could, I think sometimes we diagnose the problem as a difference in desire or responding, or one or both people not being “aroused” enough, but often it’s simpler than that: one or both people are just not present. There’s someone in their body, but the rest of them is out to lunch managing how to look fuckable or how not to lose control or what to do if this doesn’t go well. And the other person can feel it.

If you want to feel pleasure, the revolutionary act is to decide to be there and see what happens. This can be hard, and again, the stories about why run deep, beyond the scope of this post. But at base, for many of us, especially women or others taught to keep the noise down, manageability is the enemy of pleasure and freedom. Safety is really hot, but managing in a world that tells you your body is for everyone else is the opposite.

There is something undeniably strange about the speed with which Jason Arday has been transformed from a deeply controversial academic figure into a political martyr. Tens of thousands gathered in Trafalgar Square on Monday for a vigil organised by Stand Up to Racism, with speakers framing his death around racism, media persecution and institutional failure.

To call this a “psy op” is not to claim that some shadowy committee secretly arranged Arday’s death or orchestrated the crowd. There is no evidence for that. The more interesting possibility is subtler: that his death has created a political narrative so useful to parts of the British left that the uncomfortable complexity of his story is rapidly being compressed into a familiar morality play.

Before his death, Arday was facing serious questions about his academic work and aspects of his public biography. Cambridge had launched an investigation, while allegations concerning his PhD and other claims generated intense scrutiny. He denied plagiarism, and an earlier investigation by Liverpool John Moores University had cleared his thesis.

None of this proves that every allegation was true. Nor does it justify the grotesque harassment and personal abuse that Arday reportedly experienced. But neither should his death automatically settle questions that were still being investigated.

That is where the martyr narrative becomes politically potent. Arday already represented several causes central to the contemporary left: racial equality, diversity in elite institutions, disability and neurodiversity, and opposition to perceived institutional racism. His biography had become almost perfectly symbolic. His death therefore risks transforming a complicated human being into a political vessel.

The irony is that this can become another form of dehumanisation. Instead of allowing Arday to remain a flawed, complicated individual whose achievements, mistakes, suffering and controversies can all be examined honestly, competing political tribes have incentives to turn him into either saint or villain.

The Trafalgar Square vigil is therefore worth examining not because thousands of mourners must somehow be “in on” a conspiracy, but because mass mourning can become political theatre extremely quickly. The question is not who secretly planned the spectacle. It is who benefits from the story that emerges from it. And perhaps the most uncomfortable question is this: when someone dies amid unresolved controversy, is the demand for nuance itself now considered an act of political hostility?

There is also an uncomfortable precedent here: George Floyd. Floyd had a criminal record, including a conviction for aggravated robbery, yet after his death the political left did not simply mourn a complicated man. It elevated him into an international symbol. That does not mean his criminal history somehow justified his death, nor does it erase the fact that his killing by Derek Chauvin was profoundly significant. But it does raise a question about the peculiar politics of martyrdom: why do movements sometimes become so attached to imperfect, controversial or even criminal figures as symbols? The answer may be that political movements do not necessarily choose martyrs because they are morally exemplary. They choose people whose stories can be made to represent the struggle they already want to tell. A complicated person can actually be more politically useful than a saint. Their flaws can be absorbed into a broader narrative about oppression, redemption and institutional injustice. The individual eventually disappears and the symbol takes over.

And that brings us back to Arday. Within days of his death, tens of thousands were reportedly gathered in Trafalgar Square, while a GoFundMe established for his family had risen to around £178,000 against a £200,000 target. The fundraiser says the money is for funeral, memorial and associated family costs, so there is nothing inherently sinister about people wanting to help a grieving family. But the sheer scale of the response is striking, particularly given how rapidly Arday’s death has been folded into an established political narrative about racism, the media and institutional persecution. The question is not whether these people genuinely grieve him. Of course many do. The question is whether grief is now being used to settle arguments that his death cannot possibly settle. Once someone becomes a martyr, criticism of their record starts to look like an attack on the dead. That is politically powerful. It turns an unresolved human story into a moral certainty. And perhaps that is the real mechanism at work here: nobody needed to manufacture the martyr. They simply needed to recognise that the political culture was already hungry for one.

Hayden Panettiere’s sudden death at just 36 has triggered intense speculation online, particularly because of the revelations she made about Hollywood, abuse and addiction in the months before her death.

Panettiere died on August 16, 2026, after emergency services were called to a home in South Carolina. She was pronounced dead at the scene. No official cause of death has yet been announced. Police have confirmed that the preliminary investigation has found no indication of foul play or suspicious circumstances. (People.com)

The timing has nevertheless fuelled conspiracy theories. Earlier this year, Panettiere released her memoir This Is Me: A Reckoning, in which she described disturbing experiences while growing up in Hollywood. She alleged that, as a teenager, she was placed in a room with a famous, undressed man by someone she had trusted. She also described another incident involving a well-known Oscar-winning actor who allegedly exposed himself to her when she was 19. (Just Jared)

These revelations have led some people online to connect her death with what they describe as her decision to “speak out” against powerful figures in Hollywood. However, there is currently no evidence connecting her death to those allegations, and it would be irresponsible to present that theory as fact.

Another major area of speculation is suicide. Panettiere had previously spoken publicly about depression, addiction, trauma and the immense difficulties she experienced following the birth of her daughter. She had also lost her younger brother, Jansen, in 2023. Some social-media users have therefore questioned whether suicide could have been involved. (AP News)

Other online theories include an accidental overdose or a substance-related death, largely because Panettiere had previously discussed alcohol and opioid addiction. There has also been attention on reports that she had experienced significant back pain during the past year. None of these theories has been confirmed. (TMZ)

For now, the most accurate conclusion is also the simplest: Hayden Panettiere died suddenly at 36, the cause remains unknown, and authorities have not indicated foul play. Everything beyond that, including suicide, overdose, or retaliation connected to her Hollywood revelations, is speculation until the coroner releases an official determination.

Jason Arday’s death has immediately become more than a personal tragedy. It has become a battleground over race, academic standards, the British media and the increasingly poisonous nature of online political debate. But one point needs to be made clearly at the outset: there is currently no confirmed evidence that Arday died by suicide. He was found dead at his home in Battersea on 14 August 2026, aged 41. The Metropolitan Police have described the death as unexpected but not suspicious, with the circumstances to be investigated by the coroner.

Arday had been a remarkable figure. Diagnosed with autism and global developmental delay as a child, he reportedly did not speak until he was 11 and did not learn to read and write until 18. He went on to obtain a PhD and became a prominent sociologist specialising in race, inequality and education. In 2023 he became the youngest Black professor appointed by Cambridge.

His extraordinary rise subsequently came under intense scrutiny. The central allegation was plagiarism in his PhD thesis, with critics identifying numerous passages that appeared to reproduce material without appropriate attribution. There were also questions about claims made about his professional background and achievements. Institutions named in his biography disputed some of the affiliations or achievements attributed to him, while other claims, including aspects of his sporting and charitable history, were questioned.

Arday denied deliberately fabricating his life story and plagiarism, although he acknowledged mistakes in his academic work. Cambridge initially defended him against what it called a campaign, before launching an investigation. Arday resigned on 5 August, saying that the relentless scrutiny had become unbearable.

This is where the online reaction becomes especially complicated. Supporters have argued that Arday was subjected to a sustained campaign of racial hostility, particularly from sections of the British and international right-wing media. His family has described the treatment as a prolonged campaign of abuse and misinformation. Black academics have also argued that the intensity of the coverage cannot be separated from the wider political backlash against diversity initiatives and Black representation in elite institutions.

There is, however, another uncomfortable truth. Criticism of Arday’s academic record is not automatically racist because Arday was Black, and allegations of plagiarism or inaccurate credentials deserve investigation regardless of race. Conversely, legitimate scrutiny does not excuse racist abuse, personal harassment or the tendency to turn one Black academic into evidence for an entire political argument about “DEI”.

That distinction matters enormously now. It is tempting, after a shocking death, to construct a simple story: either Arday was a victim of racist media persecution who was driven to suicide, or he was a fraud exposed by an overdue reckoning. Neither conclusion is currently established by the evidence. What is established is that a celebrated academic’s career collapsed under extraordinary public scrutiny, that serious questions were raised about his scholarship and biography, that he complained of relentless attacks, and that he has now died unexpectedly.

The tragedy is that the argument has barely paused long enough to acknowledge the human being at its centre.

If you or someone you know is struggling with suicidal thoughts, you can contact Samaritans free, 24 hours a day, on 116 123, or text SHOUT to 85258. If there is an immediate risk to life, call 999 or go to A&E.

Marilyn Monroe died at her Los Angeles home on 4 August 1962, aged 36. Her death was officially classified as a probable suicide caused by an overdose of barbiturates. However, because of inconsistencies and unanswered questions surrounding the investigation, theories of murder and conspiracy have persisted for decades.

One particularly disturbing group of modern rumours concerns what allegedly happened to Monroe’s body after her death. Stories circulating online claim that her body was sexually assaulted or subjected to necrophilia before or during its transfer to the morgue. Some versions of the story focus on an alleged delay between Monroe’s death and the arrival of her body at the morgue, suggesting that the body may have been taken elsewhere. These claims have subsequently been connected to allegations that evidence was removed or that her body was interfered with. However, there is no reliable forensic or documentary evidence establishing that Monroe was sexually assaulted after death or that necrophilia occurred. Much of this material appears in later conspiracy literature and internet discussions rather than contemporary police, coroner, or court records. Therefore, these allegations should be presented as rumours rather than established historical facts.

The more prominent conspiracy theory concerns the possibility that Monroe was murdered because she knew information that powerful people wanted concealed. Her alleged relationships with President John F. Kennedy and Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy became central to these theories. Some writers claimed that Monroe possessed a diary containing information about the Kennedy brothers, organised crime, or CIA activities connected to attempts to assassinate Cuban leader Fidel Castro. According to a 1982 CIA-released document, private investigator Milo Speriglio publicly claimed that Monroe had been murdered to prevent her from exposing a CIA plot involving Castro. The CIA’s own document records that a CIA spokesman rejected the allegation as “absolutely false” and “totally absurd.”

Other theories argue that Kennedy associates, the CIA, or organised crime administered a lethal dose of drugs and subsequently helped stage the death as a suicide. Questions have been raised about the absence of obvious pill residue in her stomach and about other aspects of the toxicological evidence. Nevertheless, these points have never produced conclusive proof of homicide.

Importantly, the 1982 Los Angeles District Attorney’s review examined allegations that Monroe had been murdered and concluded that there was insufficient credible evidence to establish homicide or a conspiracy. The official conclusion therefore remains that Monroe died from a drug overdose and that her death was classified as a probable suicide.

Consequently, the theories surrounding Monroe can be divided into two categories: documented irregularities and unanswered questions surrounding her death, and much more speculative claims about sexual assault after death, government involvement, or a deliberate murder designed to silence her. The latter remain theories rather than proven historical events.

Structural fasteners play an essential role in modern construction, woodworking, and building projects. While they may appear to be small components, their ability to create strong, secure connections makes them a crucial part of many structures. From timber frames to heavy-duty installations, the right fastener can determine the strength, stability, and longevity of a finished project.

Designed for Strength and Reliability

Unlike standard screws and fixings, structural fasteners are specifically engineered to handle significant loads and stresses. They are created to provide dependable connections between materials, helping prevent movement, weakening, or failure over time. This makes them particularly valuable in applications where safety and durability are key priorities.

Their design often includes features such as stronger steel construction, improved thread patterns, and enhanced holding power. These elements allow structural fasteners to grip materials securely while distributing pressure more effectively.

Superior Holding Power

One of the main reasons structural fasteners are so effective is their ability to provide excellent holding strength. Traditional fixings may work well for lighter tasks, but structural projects require fasteners that can withstand greater forces.

Structural screws, for example, are designed to penetrate materials efficiently while maintaining a firm connection. Their deeper threads help create a stronger bond, reducing the risk of loosening caused by vibration, weight, or environmental changes.

For projects requiring dependable timber connections, builders often choose trusted solutions such as the Spax range, which offers structural screws designed to provide secure and long-lasting fastening performance.

Faster and More Efficient Installation

Another advantage of structural fasteners is their ability to improve installation efficiency. Many modern designs feature sharp points and specialised threads that allow them to drive smoothly into materials with less effort. This can reduce preparation time and help professionals complete projects more quickly.

Some structural fasteners also eliminate the need for additional drilling or complicated fixing methods. This not only saves time but can also make the overall building process more straightforward.

Built to Handle Challenging Conditions

Construction materials are exposed to many challenges, including moisture, temperature changes, and constant pressure. Structural fasteners are developed to withstand these demanding conditions, helping maintain strong connections throughout the lifespan of a structure.

Many are manufactured with protective coatings or corrosion-resistant finishes, allowing them to perform reliably in different environments. This makes them suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications where durability is essential.

Supporting Safer Construction

A strong connection is fundamental to any successful building project. Structural fasteners help improve safety by ensuring that components remain firmly attached and stable. Whether used in residential construction, renovations, or larger structural applications, they provide confidence that materials are securely joined.

Choosing the correct fastener for a specific task is important, as different projects require different levels of strength and performance. Using high-quality products designed for structural purposes can help prevent future issues and improve the overall quality of the work.

The Importance of Choosing the Right Fastener

Structural fasteners may be small, but their impact on construction quality is significant. Their combination of strength, efficiency, and reliability makes them an essential choice for professionals and DIY enthusiasts working on demanding projects.

By selecting fasteners designed specifically for structural applications, builders can create stronger connections that stand the test of time. With the right materials and dependable fixing solutions, every project has a better foundation for long-lasting success.

Almost everyone who’s ever thrown a dinner party has experienced it: that sinking feeling that you’re running a restaurant mini-enterprise and everyone else is having a good time. Bringing in professional hosts takes care of that, and much more.

The Host’s Dilemma

There is always that one person who runs the night. They are bartending, making drinks, washing glasses, fetching treats, and ensuring the music is playing. They barely get to socialize and by the time the event gets really good, they have missed most of it.

According to a OnePoll study, nearly 60% of people consider hosting social events in their homes extremely stressful. Unsurprisingly, the greatest source of stress is the fear that guests may get bored, and the responsibility of the hosts to keep food and beverages well-stocked.

This is reflected in common knowledge. Having external hosts take over the event pushes all of that operational pressure aside. The organizer becomes a guest. That alone is enough.

The Psychology of a Premium Experience

There is a moment during well-organized events when guests no longer feel they are at someone’s home but rather that they have been welcomed to someplace extraordinary. Professional hosts are the ones who make this happen.

It’s quite simple. When a person arrives and is greeted with a smile, offered a drink without having to search for one, and feels taken care of right from the beginning, the message is apparent: this evening has been carefully planned. This feeling elevates the entire occasion.

Whether it’s a bucks party or a large poker night, this is more significant than people realize. Between an unforgettable evening and one that is easily forgotten, there is often just that feeling of a special event. Many groups choose to invite Topless Babes to serve drinks, as well as host games, to bring that glamorous and energized professional feel to their private occasion, without having to relocate the entire event to a different venue.

Social Flow Doesn’t Happen Automatically

If you put ten people together in a room, there are always a few who barely know each other. Inevitably the quiet ones find themselves in the corner. Three conversations are hardly going on at all. The night becomes a slow starter.

Good hosts prevent all this. They are a presence in the room. They make introductions. They include those whom they can see are on the fringes, and they keep the energy moving, rather than letting it gather in one or two locations. It’s not by accident, this is a real skill many people have developed, and one that sounds simple but isn’t easy to master.

Think of a poker game. The game itself gives plenty to do, but in between hands the room can go flat. A good host fills that time, keeps the conversations and the jokes flowing, and makes sure no one is left out of things.

Safety and Professionalism Are Part of the Package

A successful evening at home will naturally progress. The group will get louder, more boisterous, the drinks will flow more freely, and the energy in the room will slowly climb. It’s all very enjoyable and there’s nothing wrong with that. The risk, however, is if there’s nobody in the room who’s paying attention to where the line is.

Good hosts also understand the concept of Responsible Service of Alcohol. They can tell when someone has just about reached their limit, and they can sort that out without it being an awkward or even confrontational encounter. Most importantly, they know how to keep the fun and relaxed atmosphere going, without the party crossing the line and things starting to go off the rails, or causing problems the next day.

It’s one of those areas where the difference between using a vetted professional or calling in a favor from a friend is quickly apparent. A professional will know how to handle it. Someone who’s just doing it as a friendly arrangement usually won’t, or they’ll be too afraid to address the issue even if they should.

Agency-Backed Reliability vs. the Freelancer Gamble

There is a scenario where someone sources a private contact through a social platform, books them in via a couple of DMs, and crosses their fingers. Occasionally this works out. More often than not, it doesn’t, they’re late, they’re a no-show, or they arrive unprepared and it’s the host who’s caught on the back foot.

Booking through a reputable entertainment agency eliminates that risk. The agency has sourced and trained their staff and guarantees their punctuality. If something does go awry there’s an actual business you can get on the phone. That level of responsibility changes the equation massively.

For an event with a fixed start time, a 7 pm kick-off for poker, or a bucks night’s itinerary relying on everything running on schedule, reliability is not a “it would be nice if.” It’s a must.

Treating the Night as an Event Worth Planning

This all points back to how we’ve traditionally approached a men’s night in. An ad hoc scenario certainly has a limit to how good and repeatable an experience can be when one guy is at the wheel doing everything.

Elevating the night to an actual event, and thinking through the logistics, the environment, and the guest experience beforehand, then having all the work done by people whose job it is to do it, removes that limit. Suddenly, it’s a night that guys are actually discussing when it’s over.

That’s the change. From being a host to being a participant. From things falling through the cracks because it’s all being managed by a single person, to a night where everything is covered. Pro staff make that possible, and once you’ve gone that route, the results speak for themselves.

Over the past few years, Ariana Grande’s appearance has become one of the most discussed celebrity topics on the internet. Fans have noticed that she appears much slimmer than she did earlier in her career, leading to millions of comments across TikTok, X, Reddit, and Instagram. Every new public appearance seems to spark fresh debate, with some expressing concern while others argue that people should stop commenting on anyone’s body.

The internet has offered countless theories about why the singer is so skinny. Some people believe it could simply be the result of an intense work schedule, stress, lifestyle changes, or changes in diet and exercise. Others have speculated about possible medical conditions or an eating disorder such as anorexia nervosa. However, there is no public evidence that Ariana Grande has anorexia, and she has never confirmed such a diagnosis. It is impossible to determine the cause of someone’s weight based on photographs alone.

Part of the online discussion has also included the term “anorexia euphoria.” Some clinicians and researchers use this phrase to describe a temporary feeling of achievement, control, or emotional elevation that some people with anorexia nervosa report experiencing during periods of severe food restriction. It is important to understand that this does not happen to everyone, it is not considered a benefit of the illness, and anorexia nervosa is a serious mental health condition with potentially life threatening physical and psychological consequences. There is no evidence linking this phenomenon to Ariana Grande, despite speculation on social media.

In 2023, Ariana Grande responded directly to the constant discussion about her appearance. She explained that the body many people considered her healthiest was actually during a time when she was struggling with her health. She urged fans to stop commenting on people’s bodies because no one truly knows what another person is experiencing behind the scenes. Her message was widely praised by mental health professionals and many fans who argued that public speculation about weight can be harmful.

Today, opinions online remain divided. Some people continue to speculate every time new photographs are released, while others believe the conversation says more about society’s obsession with celebrity bodies than it does about Ariana herself. Ultimately, the only confirmed information is what Ariana Grande has chosen to share publicly. Beyond that, every explanation for her weight remains speculation rather than established fact.
