Drawing us in with atmospheric, reverberating chords, ANTXNXO opens BURNING with introspective depth and poetic prowess as he sings, “Sometimes I wake up and wish I was a different person, I hide myself, can you see me, is it working? I wanted peace but they wanted to see me hurting, I held the grief in and I’m wondering if it is worth it?”

We are immediately captivated by the rising Londoner’s raw authenticity and vulnerability. The metaphorical vibes that manifest are sublime, and we appreciate the wisdom and philosophical notions that ANTXNXO shares.

The ethereal vocal harmonies add dimensionality to the piece, whilst the pulsating beat with textured hi-hats that emerges for the climax is pretty epic, leading us through to a final breakdown with choral motifs that leave us yearning for more.

Speaking on the concept of the release, ANTXNXO says that BURNING is about “the idea of shedding old skin and it burning away and starting a new life as somebody new.” The track was produced by ANTXNXO and Erim Ahmet, and the artist cites The Weeknd as a sonic inspiration, which we can definitely feel manifest.

BURNING holds an unmistakable cinematic allure, and it would be perfect for a TV show like HBO’s Euphoria, Black Mirror, or Knokke Off on Netflix. Needless to say, we are in awe, and have added BURNING to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS and TRIPPY playlists, whilst we anticipate future releases from ANTXNXO and stream the entirety of his debut album, ONLY THE DARKNESS CAN SAVE ME NOW, which is also out today!

Drawing us in with cerebral breath-like frequencies and an intimate guitar performance, Rorksha opens Récif with cinematic allure and a brooding timbe as he shares the French lyrics, “Si tes abysses, te foudroient, je serai récif à tes bras, ma main mon ancre, à toi…”

This loosely translates into English as, “If your depths strike you down, I will be the reef in your embrace, my hand your anchor, for you…”. We immediately connect with the poetic prowess, the high emotional quotient and the metaphorical depth.

The opus expands with hummed ad-libs and textured percussion that builds with an almost meditative yet melancholic energy. This leads us through to a super immersive synthscape with trip-hop drums driving the momentum. We are reminded of the French band Noir Désir and even early Jacques Brel to some extent, but with a futuristic edge.

Récif is a sublimely emotive work of art that comes in at just over ten minutes. It ebbs and flows through minimalist notions that truly tap into our heart’s centre, and there is no doubt that this could be used as the score to a film like Amour, Intouchables, or a Darren Aronofsky film. We could also imagine this being played on FIP Radio.

The return of the acoustic guitar is welcomed, intertwined with a subversive, atmospheric soundscape. Speaking on the release, Rorksha says, “It depicts a fight against our fears: the main character struggles against them but fails, until an entity saves him and takes him away to try to repair him. This is an allegory of the song’s meaning.”

As for his prose, the multi-disciplinary artist, who also created the sci-fi art video for the song, confesses, “The lyrics describe a declaration – promising to always be there for someone who is lost, acting as a reef for them to hold onto.”

The guitar pulls out once more for the final ninety seconds of the composition which has us in tears by this point, emotionally overwhelmed at the authenticity and pure artistry that manifests. Needless to say, we are in awe, and have added Récif to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS playlist, whilst we anticipate future releases from Rorksha.

Drawing us in with a cosmic rising frequency and dimensional disco-pop production, Greg Germain opens Rock With Me with intrigue, vibrancy, atmospheric ad-libs and instrumental mastery. The opus expands with the lyrics, “Sunburn on your nose, salt water on your lips, laughing with your eyes, hand resting on your hips…”

This is swiftly followed by an invitation to “rock with me on these endless waves…”. In essence, the song captures the excitement of a carefree summer romance unfolding at the beach. The poetic prose paints vivid images of sunshine, waves, and playful flirting, small gestures, lingering glances, and quiet moments that build attraction.

In a way, it is super timeless and romantic, we could imagine it being featured in a film like The People We Meet On Vacation, or an episode of Knokke Off on Netflix. The beach setting becomes a backdrop for two people drawn together by chemistry and the carefree mood of the season.

The escapist, hedonistic notions resonate well too with the zeitgeist, as we all crave human connection and liberty at a time when the system seeks to keep many people in a low vibrational frequency.

We love how the lyrics explore the tension between shyness and desire. Greg Germain shares how he is captivated by his muse who teases with mixed signals, creating an irresistible push and pull effect.

Speaking on the release, Greg tells us, “This song is about a single day that changed my life. I didn’t have the energy to join her in the water, so I just sat in the sand and watched the moment unfold. That quiet admiration – that’s what I wanted the song to feel like.”

Needless to say, we are in awe, and have added Rock With Me to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to stream Greg Germain‘s debut single, Cloud Highways.

We previously featured ReeToxA when they delivered a heartfelt celebration of enduring connection on Love Keeps Burning Still, so naturally, when we heard that they were back with Bottle, we couldn’t wait to listen and share our experience.

Bottle opens with a fierce, punk guitar soundscape with textured drums and a situational narrative. In essence, the song is about teenage friendship, mental health, and the desire to escape difficult circumstances.

It unfolds in a very relatable, relevant, and zeitgeist way as a reflection of how a lot of us deal with issues in this day and age. We learn that it was actually inspired by real events from frontman Jason McKee‘s youth. It zooms in on the struggles of young people dealing with emotional challenges, unstable home lives, and the hope that they could build a better future together.

The band tells us, “Jason was on his second date with high school sweetheart, Jody, when Nicole, Jody’s best friend called saying she could not get her medication as her parents had put it on the top shelf locked. Jason and Jody run to her house a few blocks from Jody’s to help her.”

They add, “Mental health care is poor in Australia to this day but back in the 90’s it was brushed under the table and barely spoken about. Jason and Nicole having rough times with mental health and home life conspired with Jody on how we could all live together somehow. A teenage rebellion story about mateship.”

It’s really poetically and compassionately executed; it is thought-provoking punk at its finest. We could imagine it being featured in a TV show like 13 Reasons Why, or a movie like American Pie, which touches on these themes.

It turns out that Jason wrote this when he was just fifteen, and the song was finally recorded more than 30 years later with producer Simon Moro. Whilst preserving its 1990s alternative rock spirit, the recording updates the track with modern production and performances from a band of musicians who share the same grunge-era influences.

Needless to say, we are in awe, and we absorb the gravitas of the track by taking in with water and settling down ourselves. We have added Bottle to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to stream ReeToxA‘s exquisite, growing discography.

<iframe title="Spotify Embed: Did You Just Ask Me If I Would?

Establishing the mood with a cerebral, whirring soundscape, an astral high-pitched tone and panning textures, Body opens Did You Just Ask Me If I Would? Hold The Bag with subversion and intrigue. The opus expands with a luscious, melodic synth line and the metaphorical, situational lyrics, “They wanna see some loose teeth – it’s out of control, he can’t even make himself heard with the microphone, the hate in their faces, pure poison, it’s mesmerizing…”

There is an undeniable cinematic allure and futurism attached to the track, and we could imagine Did You Just Ask Me If I Would? Hold The Bag being featured in a TV show like Euphoria on HBO, or Knokke Off on Netflix.

In essence, the song paints a surreal and chaotic portrait of modern society. It zooms into a space where violence, outrage, paranoia and absurdity have become an everyday spectacle. In that sense it feels super zeitgeist and poignant, at a time when collective chaos is at an all-time-high.

The fragmented images, from crowds craving “loose teeth” to suspicious baggies, random acts of destruction, and other highly unsettling observations mirror the overwhelming state of public anxiety, blurring the line between reality and performance. The soundscape is an incredible and psychedelic representation of this too, and the dimensional build adds drama and subversion.

The lyrics criticize mob mentality, incompetence, and the way fear and aggression spread through communities, whilst also highlighting how we have all become desensitized to the bizarre and disturbing.

We learn that Body is the anonymous solo project of Paul from Hot Hot Heat, which is a carefully guarded secret that allows the artist complete creative freedom outside the spotlight. Operating from BC, Canada, Paul writes and performs every element of Body’s distinctive sound.

He cites inspiration from books, tapes, and electric guitar, and tells us that Body exists in the liminal spaces of everyday life – mall parking lots, strip malls, and the mundane corners where most people pass through without a second glance.

The track was recorded in a mall parking lot with Paul’s Roland Juno 6 keyboard, and the single emerged from an utterly unique creative process that embraces unconventional locations as recording studios.

Needless to say, we are in awe, and have added Did You Just Ask Me If I Would? Hold The Bag to our New Music Spotlight playlist and our TRIPPY playlist, whilst we continue to stream the wider discography of Body, including I’m Still Alive, and Surveillance Camera.

Drawing us in with intelligently harmonized vocals and an invitation to “Stay where you are, you’re gonna feel the heat from the dream machine…”, Bardi Johannsson and d’Ant open Staring at Nothing with fantastical notions.

We appreciate the dimensional nature of the track, which expands with a cerebral and cinematic soundscape and poetic prowess laced with cosmic introspection. The opus evolves with intrigue as we are taken on a cerebral and conceptual journey with glitched vocal ad-libs, celestial textures and subtle notions of subversion.

As for the narrative, Staring at Nothing taps into notions of solitude, melancholia, feeling like one is in a black hole, and disillusionment with the hope of escape. We could imagine the song being featured in a psychedelic TV show like Nine Perfect Strangers, or the consciously astute Apple TV series, PLUR1BUS.

We deeply connect with the dimensionality and dynamism of the composition. The production is exquisite and the ebbs and flows between the three main segments of the piece create a cohesive tapestry of sound which is refined and magnetic. Fans of Daft Punk and Tame Impala will be able to vibe with the track.

In essence, the contemplative track implies that we are lost in thought, memory, or uncertainty, which also feels societally zeitgeist. The song is a collaboration between Bardi Johannsson, known for Bang Gang, and David Antonsson, who performs as d’Ant and is a member of KALEO. Together, they combine cinematic songwriting, atmospheric electronica, and alternative pop influences to manifest a sound that is immersive with a high emotional and spiritual quotient.

Needless to say, we are in awe, and have added Staring at Nothing to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS and TRIPPY playlists, whilst we continue to stream the wider discographies of Bardi Johannsson, and KALEO.

Drawing us in with an intricate, electric guitar riff and choral “hey” ad-libs, Chris G opens Started Like That with vibrancy and a charming alt-country energy. The opus expands with poetic prowess and a situational narrative with timeless allure.

We appreciate the journey that Chris G is taking us on and it reminds us of a scene from The Wrong Paris. There’s a euphoric sense of escapism that comes to life with the track, which feels like a sentiment that we all need a little more of right now, tapping into notions of human connection.

His timbre is charismatic and his delivery is flawlessly executed, feeling authentic to the story. Speaking on the narrative of Started Like That, Chris G tells us, “It was inspired by my wife and me back before we were married. We were hanging out at a country bar, a cover band was playing, and I used a terrible pickup line as a joke. Somehow, it worked enough for us to end up dancing together the rest of the night.”

Chris continues, “Years later, we were at our local brewery when that same song came on. I said the same line again just to be funny, and we were dancing under the string lights outside. It was one of those moments where you realize how much life has changed, but also how some things still feel exactly the same.”

As for his sonic influences, Chris G cites JT, OneRepublic, Rascal Flatts, Tim McGraw, Maroon 5, Prince, and Michael Jackson, which we can absolutely feel manifest with Started Like That, but it is also clear that the rising artist from Lago Vista is creating a sound and universe of his own design. He also references the stacked vocal techniques of groups like NSYNC, which inspired his five-part harmonies.

Establishing the mood with a celestial guitar soundscape, Gardenback open Violent Streak with intricacy, cinematic allure and poetic prowess with the lyrics, “The day spins into darkness, it′s looking like rain, are you staying? Moonbeams, looking in patiently, fall, it’s not so bad, what′s that state for?”

We could imagine the introspective, melancholic song being featured in scenes from Donnie Darko, The Crow, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, or Into the Wild, where themes of isolation, longing, and emotional introspection take centre stage.

In essence, Violent Streak reflects on longing, uncertainty, and the search for comfort during emotionally dark times. We deeply connect with the vivid imagery and quiet vulnerability. A rare source of reassurance and hope appears and the references to “ancient ways and rites” suggest a desire to find meaning and self-realization through uncertain times.

This feels really zeitigeist and a portrayal of today’s society as we wait and hope for a life-changing moment or a sense of renewal that seems elusive but deeply needed. That said, speaking on the inspiration behind the release, writer Adam Hounsfield confesses, “I was mainly thinking of this one time I had the flu really badly and had that thing where your dreams and your waking hours start blurring together a bit because you’re in bed for days straight and sleeping so much. My partner came to visit me and look after me at one point and it touched me so much.”

We learn that Adam performs guitar alongside Alex Dhesi, who also contributes the intentionally syncopated drum arrangement and the song’s closing backing vocals. Guest musician Ellis Fox added electric guitar, and Momo Iona Ueda performs the soaring violin that drive the track’s emotional and cerebral climax.

Blending home recordings with sessions at studios in Buckinghamshire and London’s Roundhouse, the band captured their intimate yet expansive sound using an AKG C414 microphone for the close vocals and acoustic guitar, while ambient lead guitar textures were created using the Jonny Greenwood “coin trick” fed through a Line 6 DL4 MkII delay pedal, resulting in the song’s rich, dreamlike atmosphere.

We love the sound and could imagine that fans of Elliott Smith and The Postal Service would also be able to connect with what Gardenback have created. Adam also adds, “I’d say the main influence was Ben Howard and his dreamy atmospheres and suggested landscapes on his Noonday Dream album. But we are also big fans of artists like The Japanese House with their lovely open sound. Adrianne Lenker and Big Thief of course are always huge inspirations.”

The cosmic build of the track and accompanying nature-inspired music video are both sublime. We have added Violent Streak to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS playlist, whilst we anticipate future releases from Gardenback.

Establishing the mood with a bold rock soundscape, ANNIE opens (Bang, Bang) Down You Go with subversion and an assertive delivery of the lyrics, “Freedom til dawn, you’re trying to ruin it all… Greetings from Almighty God, (Bang, Bang) Down You Go…”

Immediately we are obsessed with the energy of the track, and the concept that ANNIE brings to life with a Tarantino edge. The track holds a cinematic allure in its own right, but also comes with an epic video which sees ANNIE perform the track in a 90s format, exuding glamour and sensuality.

The track has obvious nostalgia attached to it, but also feels like a 2026 revival of that Nancy Sinatra vibe with contemporary flair for a new generation. It turns out that the track taps into a conscious and zeitgeist frequency, as we learn that (Bang, Bang) Down You Go is an anti-war song that examines the human cost of conflict, propaganda and political manipulation.

It evocatively explores how lies and misinformation fuel wars, leaving people to lose their homes, identities, and lives. The song argues that deception may bring temporary power, but it ultimately leads to destruction. The refrain serves as a warning that systems built on lies and manipulation will eventually collapse under their own weight, rather than as a celebration of violence.

<iframe loading="lazy" title="ANNIE '(Bang! Bang!)

ANNIE confesses, ‘This song was not written out of anger, but out of responsibility. When lies become normalized and manipulation becomes systemic, no one remains untouched. In the end, those same structures collapse under their own weight.”

We deeply appreciate how ANNIE presents the song as a call for truth, education, peace, and human connection. It encourages us to think critically about the forces that shape public opinion and conflict instead of remaining passive observers. It’s a message that we need now more than ever. We could imagine this being featured in a film like the Oscar-winning, One Battle After Another.

Naturally, we are in awe, and have added (Bang, Bang) Down You Go to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to stream ANNIE‘s debut single, Peegel, Peegel.

Bagatelle No. 25 in A Minor, WoO 59 “Für Elise” originally composed by Ludwig van Beethoven, often known just as Für Elise is a timeless masterpiece. For some background, its history reflects changing philosophical and cultural ideas across two centuries. Composed by Beethoven around 1810, during the late Enlightenment and early Romantic era, the piece embodies the Romantic emphasis on individual emotion, introspection, and the expressive power of art over rigid classical conventions.

Naturally, you can imagine how pleased we were to experience a contemporary performance of the piece by GIULIA VAZZOLER. In a way, this feels super zeitgeist and an important re-expression, not only for a new generation, but as a commentary on our current society.

Although it was not published until 1867, decades after Beethoven’s death, it became one of the world’s most recognizable piano works. It symbolizes the democratization of music as affordable pianos entered middle class homes.

Politically, Für Elise has no explicit ideological message, yet it has been embraced across vastly different societies, from imperial Europe to Cold War states and modern democracies, illustrating how great art can transcend political systems.

Philosophically, its enduring appeal lies in its balance of simplicity and emotional depth, reflecting Beethoven’s belief that profound human feeling could be communicated through music without words, making it a timeless expression of memory, longing, and the shared emotional experiences that connect people across cultures and generations. This is why GIULIA VAZZOLER‘s rendition, performed with raw authenticity and a high emotional quotient feels like an artistic statement.

Giulia confesses, “Per Elisa (Italian) is my latest classical crossover release – a cinematic, deeply elegant piano track born as a modern manifesto to strip away the elitist stigma of classical music and make it vibrant and accessible for today’s audience. The track drops alongside my debut book, which just launched straight into the Top 15 on Amazon Italy.”

For some background, GIULIA VAZZOLER is Italy’s most-followed classical pianist on Instagram. She is a leading figure in the international luxury classical crossover scene, and has collaborated with global brands like Giorgio Armani, Yves Saint Laurent, and Porsche, and held residencies at elite five-star properties including Aman Venice, Rixos Premium Dubai, and 7132 Hotel in Switzerland.

Needless to say, her rendition is a masterpiece, staying true to the original but presented with a pristine mix and audio recording. We learn that the piece was born from “a precise urge: to rescue classical music from dusty concert halls and conservative academic environments, rendering it accessible, vibrant, and emotionally resonant for everyone.”

We are grateful for this expression, and have added the composition to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to stream GIULIA VAZZOLER‘s wider discography and anticipate future releases from the visionary pianist.
