“I will survive, no matter how much you drown me in sh*t, I’ll still survive, wipe this smirk off your face, I will survive, contrary to your dreams…” sings Lonely Wanderer (stylized: Lonely wanderer) with an assertive energy as he opens I Will Survive.
We immediately connect with the powerful vibes of the song and the timeless rock soundscape featuring textured drums and bold guitars ,performed masterfully. The message is clear, and we feel aligned with what Lonely Wanderer is sharing. The gruff and charismatic vocals add a human element to the piece, and it is clear that the intention of the song is designed to resonate with many of us.
At a time when humanity is suffering, there is a lot of negative energy, and people tend to project this onto each other. I Will Survive serves as an anthem of defiance and radical self-love in a society that wants to keep us down. In the UK, this concept is known as “tall poppy syndrome”, and is what a lot of us experience for growing “too much”.

We learn that Lonely Wanderer is an anonymous rock project which is built from “poetry, discipline, and the decision to turn private words into songs.” For most of his adult life, the artist wrote poetry, and now he is finally soundtracking his words!
He confesses that a turning point arrived in December 2024, at the same time his daughter was born and he set out to release his debut single, Hellfire. The artist cites sonic influences including Metallica, Scorpions, and Queen, as well as Russian rock and metal projects Aria and Kipelov, which we can absolutely feel manifest with I Will Survive, although there is no doubt that he is carving our a universe of his own. We could imagine I Will Survive locking in a multitude of sync placement and being featured in a film like a sequel to Rocky or Into The Wild.
Needless to say, we are in awe, and have added I Will Survive to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS and TRIPPY playlists, whilst we continue to stream the wider discography of Lonely Wanderer, including his recent single, World of Dragons.
