Our obsession with CroonerEd seems to grow with every listen, we previously featured a slew of his recent releases, including I Like the Way You Walk, and I Wish I Knew, so when we heard that Ed was back with Too Much On My Mind, we were curious to say the least, and couldn’t wait to listen and share our experience!
Too Much On My Mind opens with a hummed vocalization, rippling keys and epic horns with subtle percussion as Ed sings, “Tossing and turning on a moonless night, my brain’s on fire won’t let me sleep right, the clock is dragging its hands through time, too many things running through my mind…”
Immediately we think of how perfect the track would be for a sequel to The Mask or another film with similar themes to the narrative that is unveiling. The message is relatable, and also feels highly zeitgeist as we live in a time when many of us are struggling to find peace in the face of the world’s issues.
As always, San Jose–based singer-songwriter CroonerEd‘s soundscape is literal perfection. He has this timeless aura that manifests with precision and his songs are truly genius in construct and design. Too Much On My Mind even comes with a cinematic visual to bring to life the story of the song.
CroonerEd shares how Too Much On My Mind is poignantly designed to capture “the universal frustration of sleepless nights and racing 3 AM thoughts”. We learn that the song is already approaching 500,000 YouTube views, building on the momentum of CroonerEd‘s breakthrough ballad I Wish I Knew, which reached #1 on Amazon’s Easy Listening chart in November 2025.
We have added Too Much On My Mind to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to stream CroonerEd‘s wider discography, including Why Does Everything Hurt?, and I Wish I Knew.
