Establishing the mood with an emotive and dimensional synthscape with brooding bass tones and shooting astral textures, Juno Empire opens Panpsychist with psychedelic depth and a high emotional quotient.
We appreciate the cohesive and immersive tapestry of sound that manifests with the production, and the high spiritual quotient that comes to life. Juno Empire, the brainchild of artist Alexander Thomas, shares introspective prose with a cerebral vocal design.
There is no doubt that Panpsychist has an epic and cinematic allure. Whilst it might be perfect for a mushroom trip on the roof of Petit Ermitage in West Hollywood, it would be equally likely to fit into the soundtrack for a show like Nine Perfect Strangers.
Naturally, the track is inspired by the philosophy of panpsychism. This is the idea that consciousness is a fundamental part of reality, and the track grew out of a personal revelation when Alexander Thomas became captivated by the feeling that the world around us is interconnected.
Fans of M83, Tame Impala, MGMT, Justice, and Daft Punk will absolutely be able to connect with what Juno Empire is creating, although there is no doubt that Alexander Thomas is manifesting a sound unto his own.
We learn that Panpsychist, which is co-produced with Andrew Lineweaver, is designed to “transform philosophy into sound” and invite us to “step into a world where consciousness permeates everything”, serving as “a vibrant meditation on awareness, perception, and the possibility that the universe itself might be alive.”

Alexander confesses, “Turning to the idea that the entire universe and all of its things are consciously experiencing alongside us has brought me to a place of tremendous gratitude for everything that exists around me.”
Now more than ever, we need artists who are sharing a voice of unity, and Juno Empire is clearly on an intentional path of cosmic resonance, which we support. As society is divided, it is songs like Panpsychist that can help us open our hearts, minds and third eyes.
Needless to say, we are in awe and deeply connect with the spiritual energy that Juno Empire evokes with his sound. We have added Panpsychist to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS and TRIPPY playlists, whilst we continue to stream the wider discography of the project, including Seeds, Stranger, and Gold Eyes.
