We previously featured Prience Moore when he shared his raw authenticity and high emotional quotient on I Need A Girl, so when we found out that the talented artist was back with What Would You Do, we were curious to say the least, and couldn’t wait to listen and share our experience.
Drawing us in with astral ad-lib, spoken word situational prose, and textured, sensual drums with cymbal details, expanding with a luscious piano, atmospheric vocal delivery and smooth tone, Prience Moore opens What Would You Do with his signature emotive vibes.
We deeply connect with his beautiful voice and the introspective narrative that unfolds with his prose. There is no doubt that fans of Boyz II Men would be able to connect with what Prience (Prince) Moore is creating. The visionary artist cites Babyface and George Michael as sonic influences, which we can also feel come to life with his sound, although there is no doubt that Prience (Prince) Moore is manifesting a sonic universe of his very own.
The key change that emerges is sublime, along with a dimensional bassline. We learn that the track is intended to serve as a heartfelt meditation on love and the fragile hope that relationships will last forever. Speaking on the message of the track, Prince exclaims, “Relationships, relationships, relationships! I believe we all go into a relationship thinking, hoping and wanting it to last forever. We quickly learn that life doesn’t always work that way.”

Prience (Prince) Moore tells us how it was inspired by an intimate conversation with a lifelong friend. In essence, it explores the emotional crossroads couples face when reality challenges romantic ideals. We are also obsessed with the pitch shift vocals for the finale – sending us into space and back – truly exemplifying the concept of the song. Prince confesses, “Once I finished the lyrics I showed them to my friend who inspired the song and she wept, for there were no more words to say.”
What Would You Do has a cinematic allure that would make the track perfect for a multitude of sync placements, notably a movie like The Perfect Find, Entergalactic, Resort to Love or perhaps even She Taught Love.
The single was recorded at Michael Miller Productions at Unlimitedtalents in Seattle. Moore built the track from the lyrics outwards, prioritizing its emotional depth. We are here for the talented artist’s creative philosophy and authenticity, and have added What Would You Do to our New Music Spotlight playlists, and our TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to stream the wider discography of Prience (Prince) Moore, including No You and Me, and Hard to Write.
