Establishing the mood with an ascending, astral synth riff and a captivating timbre, Bottara opens Give It To Me with a psychedelic moment and authenticity as she sings the lyrics, “Woke up thinking about what you said in my bed, what you said, repeats all the time in my head…”
We love the soundscape, it is super unique – a fusion of airy-funk and groove-pop. Bottara is clearly a talented songwriter, she writes from a place of lived experience and that really transmutes here as her charisma shines through.
As for the concept of the song, it feels relatable and perfect for a range of synch placements, perhaps for a TV show like My Life With the Walter Boys, or even a Love Island or Love Is Blind moment that reflects the themes that manifest.
The instrumental segues are sublime, with piano and disco synths – it’s playful, optimistic and uplifting. Her energy really comes to life and we could also imagine Bottara performing the song at festivals in the sun! That little laugh moment is the icing on the cake, we can feel her smile through the audio.

The rising star confesses, “Give It To Me was influenced by artists who approach confidence and desire with both control and playfulness. Beyoncé’s Cuff It was a major reference in terms of rhythm and energy. Doechii’s Persuasive also played a role, particularly in how it embraces sensuality with ease, without softening its edge.”
Bottara elaborates, “Beyond musical influences, the song was sparked by a very real, late-night conversation I had with a friend who confessed his feelings for me. That moment – the tension, honesty, and unspoken power shift – became the emotional backbone of the track. I wanted Give It To Me to feel like that exact moment where desire is acknowledged out loud, but nothing is rushed or over-explained.”
Needless to say, we are in awe, and have added Give It To Me to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to stream the wider discography of Bottara, including Crumble Baby, and God Complex.
