Establishing the mood with an acoustic soundscape featuring intricate choral vocals and an ethereal energy with cerebral percussion elements, Simonne Draper opens Finesca II with dimensionality and cinematic allure. The delicate vocalizations are sublime and expand into an organic folk-adjacent orchestral energy with trippy notions.
The experience feels psychedelic in nature with ebbs and flows, creating a dynamic tapestry of sound that is both cohesive and intriguing. The instrumental performances are organic and the human sentiment that manifests feels raw and authentic.
The airy and rhythmic percussion details feel akin to entering a portal to another dimension. The genre switch-up evokes jazz vibes with timeless melodies intertwined with the progressive notions. The finale is poetic and graceful where Simonne Draper‘s vocals come to life front and centre accompanied by her expertise on the guitar.
We learn that Simonne Draper collaborated with producer Jon Kennedy on Finesca II, which serves as a continuation of her original composition Finesca. The collaboration is designed to merge Draper’s classical background and guitar performance with Kennedy’s modern production experience. The result manifests with an ancient-futurist energy which feels divine on many levels.
