For some background, Bekim! is a German-based producer. He designs feel-good electronic and pop music rooted in nostalgia and emotional connection. Active since the 1990s, he started with vinyl collecting and mixtape culture.
He confesses how We Belong Together is inspired by early-2000s Eurodance, and how he seeks to create an uplifting, euphoric, and optimistic frequency that avoids “aggressive club energy.” The repetition is meant to give it a hypnotic, loopable quality.
