Establishing the mood with an intimate acoustic guitar and subtle percussion, Kazu Osumi opens Times of Love with the prophetic yet situational lyrics, “They say time moves slowly but it’s not the case when you’re having fun, midnight’s on the run, and we’re laughing around like we’re the only ones…”
Th opus expands with an astral frequency and poetic prowess as Kazu Osumi reflects on reality and the human condition. We deeply connect with the message that the star is sharing, and the intelligent prose through which she conveys her wisdom and thought-provoking reflections.
There is no doubt that the song holds a cinematic allure and a timeless appeal. It would be perfect for a range of sync deals – notably a coming of age movie with similar themes to the prose. The vocal harmonies from Jane Lui, aka Surrija, are sublime and the emergence of subtle strings adds a high emotional quotient to the piece.

The final moments of the song are poetic, and overall the track showcases instrumental mastery and a visionary but classic approach to song creation. Speaking on the message, Kazu confesses, “I’ve always wanted to write a nostalgic song to leave behind for my loved ones also one day when I was gone. So naturally, it would include a meditation on time.”
As for the soundscape and wider context, Kazu adds, “The guitar playing and melody I drew mainly from Eric Clapton and John Mayer – namely the way the lines would move. The progression in the beginning was influenced by the first song my late bandmate played for me when we first met. I named my artist name after him.”
Naturally, we are in awe, and have added Times of Love to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to stream Kazu Osumi‘s debut and sophomore singles, Fallen Stars, and The Best Things in Life, and anticipate future releases from the rising talent.
