Drawing us in with astral bell arpeggios and a haunting bass synth, laced with drama and cinematic allure, Everglades Boss opens POVERTY with cerebral ad libs, expanding percussion and a dimensional beat as he shares an evocative flow.
With precision and assertion, Everglades Boss taps into his history, lived experience, ambitions and a subversive counter culture as he takes us on a poignant and eye-opening trip. We appreciate the almost orchestral sound design with a sublime strings arrangement accompanying the star as he shares creative ebbs and flows with his succinct delivery.
There is a conscious message that manifests with the prose that Everglades Boss shares. In essence, this feels like an abundance mantra in many ways, particularly with the hook, “Help humankind grow, no more poverty…”
Speaking on the release, the visionary artist confesses, “My song POVERTY shares periods of my life that were very hard and left permanent scars physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. From growing up in Miami to raising my sons and losing my home during the 2008 crash, I faced many struggles while trying to stay humble in a selfish world. Reading Proverbs by King Solomon saved my life and keeps me grounded. Music is a gift, and we must show compassion, kindness, and never give up on what we love.”

POVERTY holds the intention of turning pain into power and struggle into strength. The song’s soulful roots, inspired by legends like Janis Joplin, Ray Charles, and James Brown, give it a timeless authenticity that manifests deeply.
Produced by Top Dre of Drum Majors ATL and mixed by Mr. Havell Teylar at It’s the Frat Studios in Marietta, GA, POVERTY also stands out for its bold production and unique “Viking-style” vocal delivery.
Naturally, we are in awe, and have added POVERTY to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TRIPPY playlist, whilst we continue to stream the wider discography of Everglades Boss, including Blue’s Joint, and IMAH DO.
