Establishing the mood with a dimensional, textured beat, a meditative frequency and astral detailing, Kid Digital opens Reason with the lyrics, “The reason to survive, it makes me feel alive… alive…”, accompanied by a pulsating EDM riser.
The glitched vocals expand into a fierce and assertive breakbeat mood with whirring industrial tones and a subversive bassline, needless to say, we are mesmzerized. The track feels straight out of a future Blade movie, with classic dance floor piano moments, reminiscent of iconic UK club tracks – but obviously with a massive twist.
A meditative middle eight sends us to the cosmos with glistening synths before a transcendental build reintroduces the vocals. Just as we expect a reprise of the hook, we experience a sickening breakdown which is giving Bomfunk MC’s energy. This subsequently leads us to a reprise, intertwined with the breakbeat energy and a wailing vocal synth which feels like a moment from an Avatar movie. The airy outro is peaceful but leaves us yearning for more.
There is a high spiritual quotient attached to the composition – elements of psychedelia, interwoven with the grounding UK breakbeat energy and timeless club vibes. It’s genius overall – fusing ancient futurism with contemporary rave aesthetics, and nostalgic club bangers – indeed a reason to survive!

With its genre expansive vibes, Reason showcases Kid Digital’s signature mix of power and reflection. It is all visually represented in the single artwork featuring a robotic arm holding a butterfly – a symbol of beauty amid chaos.
