Drawing us in with a boundless alternative rock energy, Little Wasters open Deeper/Down with dynamism and a touch of subversion. The Brit-pop vibes that manifest are tangible, and we connect with the 2000s nostalgia that Little Wasters bring to life with their sound.
The instrumentation is masterful and the guitar solo sends us astral. Built around a looping, electrifying riff, the song is designed to capture an unrestrained energy. It feels spontaneous, powerful and unstoppable – perfect for night out.
Frontman Rey Burns describes it as “a force of nature.” Reflecting the band’s knack for blending gritty guitars with danceable grooves, Deeper/Down embodies a feeling of release and rebellion. There is no doubt that fans of Arctic Monkeys and Stereophonics would be able to connect with the track, whilst it also evokes the infectious immediacy of Blur’s iconic Song 2.
It’s definitely an unfiltered burst of emotion and adrenaline, meant to escape rather than simply be released. The cinematic allure is also present, perfect for a scene for an upcoming remake of Trainspotting or even an episode of HBO‘s Euphoria.

Little Wasters is a four-piece band known for fusing live drums, electric energy, and dance-inspired grooves. Influenced by artists like Pete Townshend, Paul Weller, and punk songwriters such as Buzzcocks’ Shelley and The Undertones’ John O’Neil, their sound is both melodic and edgy.
It is no surprise that their debut single Beachside Hotel earned national radio play on Amazing Radio, BBC 6 Music, and BBC Introducing, praised by Gary Crowley as “infectious stuff.” Having played major events like Camden Rocks and Hanwell Hootie, the band released their debut album Wastelife in March 2025!
We have added Deeper/Down to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to stream the wider discography of Little Wasters, including the entirety of Wastelife!
