We recently featured CroonerEd as he shared his philosophical soul with the consciously empowering single, Amazing, Awful, Ordinary Life, so when we heard that CroonerEd had also released I Wish I Knew, we were curious to say the least, and couldn’t wait to listen and share our experience.
Drawing us in with a graceful and intricate piano performance with subtle cymbal details, CroonerEd opens I Wish I Knew with his signature brooding vocals as he sings, “I wish I knew how, I wish I knew when, I wish I knew what I could do right now to make you love me…”
The opus expands with layered vocals and a timeless energy as CroonerEd shares his introspective nature and high emotional quotient, punctured with luscious riffs. Eddie has a stunning range, and his poetic prowess is second to none. He bares his soul with his words and we appreciate the theatrical adjacency of his vibe – perfect for a big West End production.
I Wish I Knew is heartfelt at its core and perfectly captures the ache of unrequited love. It’s a song that feels personal yet relatable. As always, CroonerEd delivers the track with raw authenticity and sincerity – this time, like a whispered confession.

For some background, CroonerEd, also known as Eddie Thompson, is a professional musician, singer and entertainer with a rich background in performance and songwriting. Growing up in a musical family, Eddie started performing and recording at an early age. He later won a nationwide talent competition sponsored by the Gospel Music Association, which earned him his first recording contract.
Over the years, he has shared the stage with top artists like Grammy winner Bob Carlisle, recorded with world-class musicians such as jazz pianist John Colianni, and worked with renowned arranger Bob Krogstad.
Naturally, we have added I Wish I Knew to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to stream the wider discography of CroonerEd, including Why Does Everything Hurt?, and What a Ride.
