Drawing us in with a dimensional guitar soundscape and warm vocal harmonies, Michellar opens Never Say Sorry with the situational lyrics “Ever since you said you can’t see me, and I thought why not we’ll be unhappy, and the reason was that you’d met somebody that you think you love…”
The opus expands with raw authenticity and a cinematic allure as Michellar shares a relatable tale of love, self-reflection, and emotional honesty. At its core, Never Say Sorry tells the story of navigating relationships – particularly the challenges of leaving one that doesn’t feel aligned, whilst longing for a love that is true and sincere.
Michellar reflects on her personal experience of longing, loss and hope. She emphasizes that when a love is genuine, it will return – and there’s no need to apologize for following one’s heart. She confesses, “There were times when I have left a relationship and felt that I missed the love that was true and sincere. Its hard to find the right person and in so looking… I always wanted to venture outside a current one. But truth be told …. if the love is meant to be… it comes back and there is never no need to say sorry when that happens. Those emotions encircle this story to the very core.”
The song also serves as a milestone for Michellar on a personal level. It marks the one year anniversary of releasing fully produced music, and celebrates her artistic growth! Essentially, this heartfelt exploration of love’s complexitiy and the courage to embrace it honestly and without guilt is perfect for a range of movies and TV sync deals – perhaps a future episode of My Life with the Walter Boys.

Michellar has an exciting lineup of upcoming projects that blend her music and visual artistry. She will be presenting her art exhibit titled HIGH FLOW at the San Francisco Women Artists Gallery from October 4 to October 31, featuring 15 cover art paintings of her songs, each integrated with QR codes so visitors can listen to the music while experiencing the artwork. In addition to the exhibition, there will be a live one-hour performance of these songs on a designated night in October, creating an immersive experience that bridges visual art and music.
We continue to be in awe of what Michellar is creating, and it is no surprise that she was also recently featured by Rolling Stone! We have added Never Say Sorry to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to stream Michellar‘s growing discography, and anticipate future releases!
