We recently featured 7Sven for sharing his wisdom, lived experience and metaphorical depth with the provocative and mind-opening single, Routine, so when we heard that the talented artist was back with Anorexic Mind, we were curious to say the least, and couldn’t wait to listen and share our experience.
Drawing us in with an astral piano performance and intricate, acoustic guitar, 7Sven opens Anorexic Mind with atmospheric vocals as he metaphorically sings, “Steppin’ in the light, standing all alone up there with all the ever blue, far below it may be cool up here it’s desert hue…”
In essence, Anorexic Mind reflects on the notions of isolation and detachment. It showcases imagery of standing alone and voices fading into the past. The concept of “anorexic mind” suggests fragility and a distorted sense of self. It highlights struggles with emptiness and identity.
The prose also conveys uncertainty and searching, as memories blur and external validation (“fetching looks”) proves to be hollow. Tangibly, even beauty and light cannot heal what’s carried inside, which leaves 7Sven suspended between loss and possibility.

In the end, 7Sven‘s focus shifts inwards. With the audience gone and history erased, he notes that the true treasure is time itself. As for the message, Anorexic Mind suggests that freedom comes from embracing the fleeting present, instead of chasing recognition.
We deeply connect with the jazzy and introspective mini-pop epic. The cinematic allure is captivating, the glistening notions, the whimsical edge, and the manner in which the instrumentation reflects the prose. It’s nothing short of genius.
The strings and sonic interlude are sublime and from a zeitgeist perspective, the track captures the heightened awareness and emotional intensity of life’s pivotal moments. It explores the fleeting clarity and exhilaration that we feel when standing on the edge of change.
Naturally, we have added Anorexic Mind to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to stream the wider discography of 7Sven, including Routine, and anticipate future releases from the visionary artist.
