Establishing the mood with an astral melody and a dimensional hip-hop adjacent beat with an Eastern meets Latin nuance, YoungLuxe opens Flex World with a poignant message as she shares conscious prose with reference to current “flex” culture as she raps, “They rocking Louis, but they ain’t got no soul, flexing with Gucci, but they stuck in the hole, chasing the fame, but they lost in the game, wanna be like Balenciaga kings, but they don’t know the lane Rolls-Royce outside, but they still feel the shame, the drip ain’t real, it’s just an illusion, hype ain’t worth it, it’s just confusion…”
We immediately connect with the depth and authenticity that transpires with Flex World, and learn that at 14 years old, YoungLuxe is a rising Generation Alpha voice who understands what is truly important and is not afraid to critique the greed and unconscious nature of previous generations and the mainstream.
Flex World features a sung chorus as YoungLuxe conveys her ethos with the lyrics, “We’re living in a world where it’s all about the flex, the price of beauty’s higher than your soul… what’s next? I’m tired of this game, I’m done with the stress…”
Speaking on the release, YoungLuxe confesses, “I wrote Flex World because I was tired of seeing people flex things that don’t matter – like you’ve got all this shine, but no soul behind it.” The rising star adds, “This is my debut, but I’m not stepping in quiet. I’m raw, emotional, honest – sometimes I cuss a little, but only when I feel it. That’s my voice.”
There is no doubt that YoungLuxe has arrived on the scene with the fearless boldness and lyrical clarity that many artists spend years trying to find. The track serves as a much needed takedown of hollow materialism and performative status symbols at a time when we need it the most.
YoungLuxe‘s perspective is really impressive. She’s an artist with vision and purpose, and it is abundantly cleat that she understands the power of music as both expression and commentary, and she’s using it to start a conversation. In essence, we don’t need luxury to be valuable, and realness will always outshine a rented image. Naturally, we have added Flex World to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS playlist, whilst we anticipate future releases from the rising star!
