Drawing us in with an intricate guitar performance and a captivating, raw vocal, Nick Catoire opens there for you with minimalism and the metaphorical lyrics, “Got your knife in my back, follow the leader, now I went off track, I swallow the piece of all that we had…”
The opus expands with poetic prowess and evocative authenticity as Nick Catoire shares his soul in a timeless manner. The soundscape requires nothing more than some immersive frequencies to accompany the star as he showcases not only his sublime range and thoughtful songwriting, but his pure and unadulterated talent.
Speaking on his message, Nick says, “This is a raw, honest anthem for anyone who’s ever felt the ache of queer loneliness or the sting of broken promises.” We appreciate the intentional nature of how the artist is bringing to life his universe.
The star’s voice has a cinematic quality, making there for you the perfect fit for a massive Hollywood movie soundtrack with a poignant scene that fits the overarching sentiment of the lyrics that Nick is sharing.

We learn that the track is taken from Nick’s upcoming EP, Hollow. The track was written in isolation and shaped by years of emotional turbulence, alone in a dimly lit bedroom, where the raw and authentic star chose to shut out the world in “an attempt to protect himself from further hurt.”
He confesses, “I guess the truth of it is that I wrote this song in isolation. Hiding myself away in a dimly lit bedroom, not wanting to be perceived, not wanting to allow the possibility of being hurt by another person. I spent the last few years feeling like a ghost. Staring at a phone screen. Distracting my brain. There was nothing around me that felt like I was living a real life. I was trying to understand if this is what it feels like to be a gay person, or if this is just what it feels like to be human. And to have been hurt. To have had the floor fall out from underneath you again.”
We deeply connect with the message and Nick Catoire‘s poignant depth and stripped back emotion. Naturally, we have added there for you to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to stream the wider discography of Nick Catoire, including I Can’t Look At You Now, and Empty Love.
