Establishing the mood with an enchanting banjo performance, Michellar opens Get me there to Church with situational and metaphorical prose laced with charm and a captivating romantic energy. The vocals are performed by Helen Walford and Harrison Black, and needless to say, we are completely hypnotized by the tale and their timbres.
The opus expands with layered harmonies, which bring to life the poetic prowess that Michellar imbues with her exquisite songwriting. The words feel relatable to anyone who has been in love and is taking the next steps towards commitment.
There is no doubt that Get me there to Church would be perfect for a multitude of synch deals that reflect a similar narrative to that which is being expressed with the lyrics. Speaking on her message, Michelle Bond tells us, “Living together with the one you chose is just not enough to assure one of eternal love between two people. So why not tie the knot after so many years and getting to church is all that needs doing. I personally had this experience and reminiscing those times in this song just makes me write those feelings we both had at the time.”

With reference to the soundscape, Michellar adds, “This is significant because I love country songs and to be able to write one such as this… puts a smile on my face.” We learn that the demo recordings took place in San Francisco, and the final tracks were recorded in London and Staffordshire in the UK!
We love how much of a global icon Michellar is – manifesting her sonic dreams across oceans! Produced in collaboration with Toby Wilson, Michellar also notes that Miranda Lambert is big influence on this track. She says, “Her sound is a big inspiration in putting this song together.”
Naturally, we have added Get me there to Church to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to stream Michellar‘s ever expanding discography, and eagerly anticipate her next release!
