Speaking on the release, Jeremy confesses, “This song was written at a time in my life when I felt like everything I had worked for was for nothing. I just wasn’t happy and was looking back on all the hard times I had been through growing up and was feeling really down on myself. Memories of the family & friends I’d lost along the way was weighing heavy on my mind. I just felt alone and lost, almost like I was at a crossroads in my life trying to determine which direction I should go in next.”
There is a relatable energy that transmutes, making the song perfect for a Hollywood synch deal – perhaps a movie with similar themes to what Jeremy is sharing with his deep lyricism. Jeremy even says, “I was told this song sounded like a song that would be at the end of an action western movie……like if one cowboy on a horse was watching another cowboy ride off into the sunset.”
With reference to the backstory of the recording process, we learn that the song originally had an acoustic rock style with a country rock sound but it was suggested that a clean country acoustic guitar in the song would sound better with a more distorted rock sounding guitar. In addition to singing and writing, Jeremy plays all of the instruments, bar the drums, and mixes and masters his own productions through his label, AvezaRock Publishing!
