Drawing us in with a highly intimate acoustic guitar soundscape, BE|AH opens Would You? with a captivating timbre and an evocation of his lived experience and mindset as he sings, “Would you come out and say you love me when I know that you won’t… I know that you won’t… Would you come out and talk all about me… I know you don’t…”
The opus expands with textured drums, manifesting the hook and concept of the song as BE|AH transmutes his raw and emotional message and introspective nature. The piece has a cinematic allure, in a way reminding us of early Elliott Smith, but also designed perfectly for a coming of age Hollywood movie synch deal.
The piano outro is a sublime touch, which brings the minimalist piece to a close whilst also showcasing a notion of dimensionality with the intentional depth that BE|AH brings to life with his powerful work.

We learn that Would You? was recorded entirely in BE|AH‘s apartment, specifically in his room. The recording process was a clearly extremely authentic and organic. The star also reveals a unique twist to his creative process, recording vocals and writing lyrics within the first few minutes of waking up, which allowed for this “spontaneous and genuine expression of thoughts and feelings”.
BE|AH‘s timbre also plays into this authenticity, his rasp reminding us of artist like Rufus Wainwright, whilst also being unique unto his own expression. Speaking on the release, he comments, “From all my songs, this one I enjoy the most somehow. It’s the kind of music I want to make. The sentiment of the text Would you even though I know you won’t a revelation of wishful thinking even though you know the answer already, speaks to me.”
Naturally, we have added Would You? to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to stream the wider discography of BE|AH, including I Suppose, ROCKS POND, and I Can’t Stop Luvin’.
