Establishing the mood with an astral frequency, expanding with a pulsating energy and a soaring, dramatic and cinematic electric guitar solo with intricate piano notes, Koli Band open Ay Amor with dimensionality and cosmic, worldly influences.
The opus evolves with celestial ad libs before we experience the opening lyrics, “Ay amor, caminando voy solito, ay amor, en la calle de olvido, ay amor…”. The composition takes on a dynamic approach to song creation, immersive, with a high emotional quotient and an almost EDM adjacency with an incredible, high octane build back into the hook.
The track is festival ready, and we could imagine it being featured at Tomorrowland or Coachella. The emotive chorus is poignant, whilst the production with epic synths and fierce drums amplifies this experience, tapping into our heart’s centre, which is of course intentional, and also our inner instinct to rave for the rest of eternity!
Speaking on the release, Koli Band confess, “Ay Amor is a deep house electronic track with a Spanish vocal that tells the story of a spiritual journey. It’s about a seeker embarking on a path of love, self-discovery, and transcendence in pursuit of truth and the beloved. The blend of rich harmonies and hypnotic rhythms aims to evoke emotion and reflection.”
We learn that Koli Band was founded in 2012 in Tehran under the direction and production of Behrouz Farmani. They started their journey with Flamenco music, performing concerts and touring across Iran.
Following Behrouz’s relocation to Cyprus, he transitioned into electronic music production, creating hybrid compositions and eventually finding his unique sound in organic oriental style. We are obsessed with the global sound that manifests with Koli Band under the guidance of Behrouz Farmani.
