FOAM expresses the concepts of alienation and disillusionment with evocative and consciously intelligent new single, Elysium

Drawing us in with a cerebral energy, expanding with strummed acoustic guitar and a broody, atmospheric grunge adjacent vocal, FOAM opens Elysium with poetic prowess and the prose, “I cannot hide way deep inside, when the music will come out from the way, I will not know when the time is up, people will just roll in their graves…”

The opus expands to take us on a self-reflective, and self realised journey. Elysium expresses the sentiment of feeling trapped inside oneself – unable to fully hide or express true identity, especially through music. The song also reflects how society reacts with confusion and judgment toward those who are different, which leads to emotional disconnection or numbness.

We appreciate the philosophical depth that transmutes with the song, and learn that the project is influenced by Nirvana, The Beatles, and Oasis, but we can definitely feel some Smashing Pumpkins vibes come through with their altogether unique sound.

FOAM tells us how they present lyrics that are “between cryptic messages and painfully clear confessions, sometimes making you feel you’re reading someone’s private, worn out journal.” We love their authenticity and self-aware brand of song creation.

There is a cinematic allure to Elysium, ideal for a massive Hollywood synch deal for an A24 film. The sonic expansion of the song is sublime with toms and hummed Nirvana-esque ad libs – it truly feels like the reincarnation of Kurt Cobain in many ways.

Naturally, we have added Elysium to our New Music Spotlight playlist, as well as our TIMELESS and TRIPPY playlists, whilst we also stream FOAM‘s accompanying track, Breathing Instructions, and anticipate future releases from the creators!
