Drawing us in with a luscious, dimensional synthscape with astral tones and textured drums, expanding with a cerebral riser, Zodiak opens Cheat with intricacy and atmospheric vocals courtesy of Vocalify.
The message of the song is both literal and metaphorical, intimate and also relatable with reference to a lover who “didn’t mean to cheat”. The opus is perfect for major synch deals, and has a boundless, nostalgic meets contemporary pop hybrid energy making it perfect for clubs too. We could imagine the song in a coming of age movie or HBO TV show like Euphoria, where the protagonist might be learning about themselves and the power of love and commitment.
The vocal production is sublime, and intertwines cohesively with the dark-pop production – masterfully created overall. The bass line is particularly mesmerizing! Fans of Lady Gaga, The Weeknd, Daft Punk, and Tate McRae would be able to connect with what Zodiak is manifesting.

We learn that Zodiak is a rising electronic music artist from Leeds in England. He tells us how he loves playing with sounds, plugins, and bringing an ‘80s vibe to his creations, inspired by artists like Modern Talking and Avicii.
Zodiak built the track by experimenting with Serum 2 and Kickstart 2. He amplified the track with creative effects, including panning and automation, to give the composition energy and depth. Zodiak confesses that he began making music in February after watching an Avicii documentary. At first, he didn’t even know what a chord progression was, but now he enjoys composing for fun in FL Studio, with no immediate plans to perform live. His journey truly shows how fast you can grow with passion and curiosity.
We have added Cheat to our New Music Spotlight playlist, as well as our TRIPPY and TIMELESS playlists, whilst we continue to stream Zodiak‘s wider discography, including Show Me A Sign, and All Your Need.
