Our obsession with Consequential has continued to grow since we featured the talented artist when he took us to a cosmic rave with the dimensional opus, Down, the transcendental and emotive Not The Type, and the optimistic and genre expansive LivinLife-NeedU, so when we heard that he was back with ComeAround, we couldn’t wait to listen and share our experience.
Setting the tone with an astral synth and intricate drum’n’bass beat with cerebral ad libs, Consequential opens ComeAround with dynamism and a British 1990s throwback energy, with a futuristic edge and a pop sensibility that fans of PinkPanthress would also be able to connect with.
The vocal design is refined and the timbre is warm. The prose invites us into Consequential‘s connected universe as the heat is high and the sun has gone down. The vocalist sings, “Everybody come around, everybody come around…”. There is mastery in the simplicity of the message.
This evolves with “hey yeah” ad libs, an industrial baseline and a boundless high synth that taps into a euphoric energy. The core and trippy drum’n’bass beat returns for a minimalist ebb before a grand crescendo in production with an almost psychedelic nuance that guides us into another verse and chorus before an anthemic and immersive finale that feels like a climax.

We learn from Consequential that ComeAround was recorded in unique places, like in bed, in the garden, and even while doing dishes. This shows how creative and dedicated Consequential is. He tells us how he worked hard to make the song full of little sounds and surprises for us to enjoy each time we hear it. He adds how ComeAround is made to bring fun summer vibes while also staying in people’s minds long after the party ends.
Naturally, we have added ComeAround to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS and TRIPPY playlists, whilst we continue to stream Consequential‘s exquisite growing discography, and anticipate future releases from the visionary producer.
