By now you might have noticed our obsession with STREAMER, having featured the powerful and dramatic single, Time Flies By, and Festival, which served as a sonic odyssey through euphoria and introspection. Naturally, when we heard that the band was back with The Island, we were curious to say the least and couldn’t wait to listen and share our experience.
The track opens with a mysterious, rising guitar soundscape with waves crashing, akin to the opening scene of an epic movie. The opus expands with philosophical, metaphorical prose and astral riffs with luscious orchestral string details before exploding into an immersive, holistic and anthemic energy.
We feel immersed in STREAMER‘s universe, reminding us of early Coldplay – iconic with a high emotional quotient and lyricism that feels relatable and inviting, both literally and emotively. We can hear the crowd singing this in unison with the band, and feeling every note of the transcendental guitar solo.
Knowing that manifestation is real, imagine our delight in finding out that the band had booked a slot at Glastonbury this year following the release of their single, Festival! With reference to The Island, the band confess, “The Island is a song that is nostalgic, yet uplifting and full of hope and joy. It resonates with anyone who has lost someone close. We have a strong affinity with the sea and the Western Isles, as indeed our loved ones did before us.”

They add, “The Island weaves together themes of love, loss, memory, and belonging. Anchored by rich, emotional vocals and a surging soundscape that rises and falls like ocean swell. The track is a deeply personal reflection on grief and the enduring connections we hold to those we’ve lost — and the places that keep them alive in our hearts.”
STREAMER are cementing their blend of emotional lyricism with sweeping production, lush instrumentation, and anthemic choruses evoking both introspection and euphoria. The Island offers a sonic journey through memory and healing, ideal for everything from solitary walks to Saturday nights at Glastonbury. The band is comprised of Tom (vocals, guitars, keys), Jez (bass, backing vocals, keys), and Tom’s son Freddie (drums, percussion)!
We have added The Island to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS playlist, whilst we anticipate videos from their upcoming Glastonbury set, and continue to stream STREAMER‘s exquisite, growing discography!
