Establishing the mood with a cerebral riser, astral keys and an immersive, high synth frequency with a boundless energy and textured drums, O.G.Bling open Tropical Hoon tapping into with a progressive funk meets boom bap nuance.
Fans of Gorillaz and early Eminem would instantly be able to connect with O.G.Bling‘s vibrant and genre-expansive energy, but there is also a deep rooted uniqueness in what the project is manifesting. The prose has an optimistic, worldly vibe with descriptive, conscious prose at a time when we need it the most.
O.G.Bling‘s sound is festival ready – we could imagine a set at the iconic Secret Garden Party or at a full moon party in Thailand, where O.G.Bling is based. We love the melodic guitar riffs and the layered vocal design – the lyrics are introspective, empowered and really introduce us to the artist. Pretty sure we heard a blunt being smoked up during the second chorus before a minimalist vocal moment before an authentic and captivating finale.
As for the name of the song, O.G.Bling appears to be using “Hoon” like the Australian slang, meaning someone wild, rebellious, or carefree, but setting it in a tropical setting. So Tropical Hoon means a wild, free-spirited person living it up by the beach, which certainly comes through in the message of the song!

O.G.Bling is based in Pattaya, Thailand, and Tropical Hoon marks the project’s debut single. The song was produced by Alex Base, with music by Alexander Basov and lyrics by Alexander Goryachev and Bling. We learn that the song was recorded in a cozy studio in Thailand.
The creators cite Post Malone, Eminem, 50 Cent, and Marcus Miller as influences, but as we mentioned before, there is no doubt that O.G.Bling is creating a fresh and exciting sound of his own.
The creative team plans to stay in the studio in 2025 to work on a full album and will start live performances in 2026. They confess, “We mean a loud start and great prospects! We have formed a cool, close-knit team on this project and it was decided not to stop writing and releasing tracks.” Naturally, we have added Tropical Hoon to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TRIPPY and TIMELESS playlists, whilst we anticipate future releases from O.G.Bling!
