Drawing us in with an ethereal and dimensional synthscape with astral tones and a pulsating heartbeat, Hekatė opens Expand with an affirmative message as she recites the poignant and conscious prose, “You can expand as much as you want, you can sink in as deep as you please…”
The opus, released on the day of the Taurus new moon, expands with cerebral, warped vocal riffs, fused with a trap-adjacent core to take us on a trip-hop, genre expansive, hybrid journey with a zeitgeist, contemporary edge, as Hekatė invites to “inhale” and “exhale”.
What we appreciate about Hekatė‘s spiritually conscious intention is that she creates with a high vibrational frequency, but it is not cliché. It feels unique, ever-present, and the creative ebbs and flows of her sonic design feel like the entirety of the universe is breathing. Her lyricism is expansive, of course, in line with the title of the track. It is intended to empower us, and also perfect for manifestation on the new moon.
We are always seeking more conscious art with an edge and this is what Expand manifests. The subversive baseline that emerges half way through the opus is fierce and dimensional, adding yet another element to the high spiritual quotient and dynamism that Hekatė brings to life with her sound.
Speaking on her artistry, the emerging creative from London confesses, “I produce immersive electronic experiences designed to create a visceral, subconscious sensation. Layered textures, swelling synths, and a hypnotic pulse is used to bring musical catharsis. The tracks are to be felt as much as heard – a deep, meditative drift. Blending dark ambient and cinematic soundscapes, it’s for an instant release.” Hekatė also explains that she used her meditation teaching experience to create the piece.
