We previously featured Omar as he showcased his authenticity, and playfulness on the relatable, Michael Jackson-inspired track, Better Be Lucky, so when we heard that the talented star was back with I Got You, we couldn’t wait to listen and share our experience!
Drawing us in with a glistening synthscape and astral iterations of the title of the track, Omar, also known as Omar Pierce, opens I Got You with assurance as he sings, “Hate it when you’re stressing out, come here and tell daddy about it…”
The opus expands with divergent baselines which are nuanced in construction, adding dimensionality to the production, as Omar shares his delicate vocals with an intentional nature. There is no doubt that the star is winning in his love life if he treats his partner in this way!
Omar confesses, “This song was a reminder that sometimes, the best things happen when you stop chasing perfection and just create from the heart. I wanted the song to make girls feel loved and sexy, and Felly immediately knew the direction to take.”
The song comes with a charming visual representation which sees Omar in his element, amplifying his cinematic universe and brining to life his adorable essence. We learn that the track was inspired by Justin Bieber’s Yummy, especially its playful, fun vibe, which influenced the song’s feel and direction.
We learn that I Got You was recorded at Circle House Studios in Miami, and is co-written by Felly, with Jesse Jazz overseeing the recording process. Fans will be glad to know that Omar is embarking on a U.S. tour from late April through to May 2025, performing across the continent to promote his artistry!
Naturally, we have added I Got You to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to stream Omar‘s growing discography and anticipate future releases from the rising pop star!
