Opening with a dimensional, deep house soundscape with astral nuances, piano intricacies and textured depth, ST7VEN opens Rien oublié with the inspiring lyrics, “Rien est jamais perdu..”, which means “nothing is ever lost.” The opus evolves with an introspective poignancy as the star shares an atmospheric pop energy with us and a philosophical message.
Rien oublié serves as the second single from ST7VEN’s deeply personal EP DOULEURS, which explores the central theme of pain. We learn that the track creates a genre expansive experience, blending deep house and chillwave to portray the emotional tension between love and suffering.
With reference to his lyrics, ST7VEN confesses, “This is the expression of a destructive love in which, despite the suffering inflicted, I remain a prisoner of my attachment. I vacillate between nostalgia and self-rejection, unable to free myself from the past. The desperate tone, powerful images and lyricism make this a powerful expression of the pain of love and emotional dependence.”

Rien oublié is co-produced with Sebastián Borromeo, and features haunting, metaphorical prose which conveys the intensity of heartbreak and the struggle to move on. The recurring phrase “I haven’t forgotten anything”, underscores ST7VEN‘s inability to let go of a painful past.
Despite the profound themes there is also an air of catharsis and sonic optimism with the piece. The song feels healing, in its creation and expression – perhaps something that manifests through ST7VEN‘s intentional nature and creative process.
The soundscape is masterful, and at moments the spiritually dimensional production even reminds us of the original theme of The White Lotus by Cristobal Tapia De Veer. Naturally, we have added Rien oublié to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS and TRIPPY playlists, whilst we continue to stream ST7VEN‘s debut single, La douleur.
