As huge fans of German producer Luke Tangerine, we couldn’t wait to feature his latest release, To Be Yours, created in collaboration with rising British artist NDGE. To Be Yours opens with a shimmering 80s adjacent soundscape with astral melodies and drums with gated reverb.
The opus expands with a relatable message as NDGE sings, “I want to go back, I want you know, I still want to be yours… I want to go back, I need you to know, I still want you to be yours…”. The lyrics reminisce, and the picture that NDGE paints feels cinematic with his poetic prowess and a sentiment that many of us in the history of time and relationships has felt!
To Be Yours features a transcendental guitar solo which only adds to the dynamism of the already quite dimensional track. We are in awe of the instrumental mastery demonstrated, and the escapist sentiment that the soundscape invites us to get lost in. Perfect for a drive at night, and released mere hours before the incoming full moon!
Speaking on the track, Luke confesses, “To Be Yours is about longing and connection, wrapped in that signature 80s atmosphere we both love. He continues with reference to his collaborator, “Working with NDGE again felt completely natural – his voice and guitar bring the story to life in such a personal way.”
We learn that the pair previously teamed up on Toy, a track co-produced by Luke Tangerine along with Robson Darker, which was featured on Luke’s album Synthedelic, where NDGE contributed guitar and backing vocals!
