Setting the tone with a cerebral guitar soundscape and atmospheric harmonies, SANSOM opens Burn the Bridges with a sense of ferocious dynamism as he sings, “I’ve given you the key to my fragmented mind…”
The opus expands with a poignant message about the artist’s lived experience of having to confront someone that he thought was helping him but was in fact was trying to hurt him. This authenticity really shines through and the charisma that SANSOM exudes is tangible.
His lyricism holds a philosophical and metaphorical edge which elevates the message of the song, taking it into a more subversive and groundbreaking space emotionally. Speaking on the release, the star confesses, “Burn the Bridges captures the moment when you’ve finally had enough of the ties that bind you to someone. With raw lyrics and a constant tension rushing through the track, it explores the decision to move on. Sometimes it’s best to burn the bridges of a relationship to light the way forward.”

We learn that Burn the Bridges was recorded at Brighton Electric Studios, which has hosted many famous bands including the iconic, Royal Blood. The production is flawless, dynamic and stadium ready. Fans of Tigercub, Queens of the Stone Age, and Foo Fighters will absolutely be able to connect with the piece, and some of the astral guitar work reminds us of early Garbage!
SANSOM is an empowering artist whose lyrics resonate deeply, offering a message of resilience, self-belief, transformation and boundary enforcement. His music blends raw emotion with anthemic melodies, inspiring those of us who might feel lost or unheard to find strength within ourselves.
This is the first of four tracks that SANSOM will be releasing this year, and if it is a sign of soundscapes to come, we are enthralled and ready to hear more. We have added Burn the Bridges to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS and TRIPPY playlists, whilst we continue to stream SANSOM‘s growing discography!
