Our obsession with Plasma Chasms seems to grow with every listen! We previously featured the talented duo for their retro-disco, psychedelic trip, Solaris, and their cosmic soul odyssey, Interstellar Baby, so when we heard that the fourth stop on the cosmic elevator had just arrived with a brand new single titled, Already Waiting, we couldn’t wait to listen and share our every thought!
Kicking off with a boundless, galactic synth and 80s adjacent drums with glistening astral nuances, Plasma Chasms share introspective prose and a timbre that fans of David Bowie will absolutely be able to connect with.
The composition expands with a tangible sense of authenticity and emotional depth that has us hypnotized. We appreciate the vocal range and how both artists’ voices intertwine. Speaking on the message of the release of Already Waiting, the talented duo confess, “It tells a story of unrequited love and misunderstanding. It ask the question, What if the love you thought was never reciprocated actually was? Nothing is ever as it seems.”

Already Waiting is without a doubt a lush and ethereal experience, full of shimmering synths and soulfully dreamy guitar tones that transport us into a space where the air is thick with unspoken emotions. The track paints a picture of a romance unfolding in slow motion, in that tender, vulnerable stage of unrequited love. It’s where basslines glide smoothly under hazy vocal harmonies, and a soulful falsetto echoes through a cosmic jazz lounge.
The song beautifully captures the essence of those moments when love is just out of reach, where you’re standing on the edge, wanting to shout your feelings from the edges of the universe but held back by the fear of vulnerability.
