Establishing the mood with a fierce electric guitar performance and textured percussion, expanding with intricate piano, Harpa opens Gone with a sublime vocal performance and metaphorical depth, reminiscent of iconic female-fronted bands like Evanescence.
The opus expands with dynamism and cerebral hooks to take us on a thought-provoking journey through the artists lived experience. Speaking on the release, the rising star confesses, “This was really the first track we’d written as a band and without me having lyrics first. Our guitarist Rob came up with this nu-metal-esque opening riff, and I’d been super eager to write a heavier song. So the band got together and the lyrics just flowed out of me.”
Harpa continues with reference to the message, “Gone is about a friend I had, who I always thought was better than me. I’d constantly compare myself to her. After that friendship ended it took me a long time to shake that feeling, but eventually, I came to see her for what she was. It’s kind of a message to her, saying I’m no longer waiting around for you to come back. I’m moving on.”
We deeply connect with the philosophical depth of Gone, as well as Harpa‘s stunning range and charisma. The guitar solo is out of this world, and it is no surprise that Harpa has rapidly become a notable presence in the music industry.
With her impressive vocal range, precise control, and a deeply emotive tone, Harpa has captivated audiences and industry professionals alike. Over the past few years, Harpa has diligently refined her artistry and expanded her repertoire, preparing to make a significant impact on the music scene. Now accompanied by a full band, she is poised to share her compelling sound and narrative with the world, leaving us all eagerly anticipating her next move.
