Marky Wildtype manifests a dramatic and emotive escape to serenity with new single, Place of Peace

Drawing us in with strummed acoustic guitar and an ascending, atmospheric vocals, building with drama and a high emotional, aligned with the title of the track, Marky Wildtype opens Place of Peace with a mantra-esque plea as he repeatedly sings, “I just need a place of peace…”

The opus expands with an exquisite piano performance as Marky shares philosophical prose, laced with wisdom and intentional depth. His message feels relatable and zeitgeist, and we appreciate the evolution of the production, tapping into an anthemic energy with a timeless sentiment.

The choral vocal design is sublime, with a power pop adjacent vibe, and this coupled with the highly emotive chord changes, and charged lyricism, really tap into our heart’s centre. “I don’t want to die, I want to be reborn…”, sings Marky as he shares his self-realized nature with us.

A strings arrangement sends us astral, as Marky continues his quest for a meditative space. The drama of the penultimate choruses is resplendent, and we can only imagine how incredible this would be to experience live. The final chorus taps into the minimalism of the song’s opening, bringing us full circle, and leaving us yearning for more.

We learn that in addition to writing the songs, Marky Wildtype also fully arranged and performed all the parts, and recorded, mixed and mastered the opus himself. He cites Taylor Swift, Ben Folds, Deftones, Billie Eilish, Weezer, Belle & Sebastian, Aurora, Sigrid, First Aid Kit, and Jamie Lenman as influences, although there is no doubt that he is manifesting a peaceful universe of his own.

Place of Peace is the third single from Marky Wildtype‘s forthcoming album, If Destroyed Still True, designed to “explore ways we might reframe and persevere through some of life’s challenges – particularly those from within – depression, anxiety and intrusive thoughts.”

We have added Place of Peace to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our new TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to stream Marky Wildtype‘s growing discography including The Hole, and Tell Me Again, and anticipate the release of If Destroyed Still True.
