Tapping into a meditative energy, Quiet, The Art open Monochrome with a dimensional frequency and minimalist percussive synths, before we experience the conscious opening prose, “Deep breath, exhale and decline…”
Immediately, we feel at one with the composers, and assured of an intentional incoming trip. Monochrome achieves just that. We are in awe of the cohesive tapestry of sound that the duo manifest, and the introspective wider message of the piece.
The opus expands with a dynamic electric guitar performance and anthemic drums, which both amplify the dramatic sentiment of the piece. Layered and cinematic melodies invites us further along the journey, creating an almost transcendental energy before a breathtaking finale. We can only imagine how epic this would be to experience live!
Experiencing Monochrome offers various cerebral advantages by engaging our brain in a deeply immersive and meditative experience. The repetitive patterns, entrancing rhythms, and soothing melodies of the hypnotic opus induce a state of relaxation, reducing our stress and anxiety levels.
The track seems to promote a sense of calmness and mental clarity, as we become entranced by the hypnotic sounds. Monochrome helps us enter a state of heightened focus and concentration, allowing for creativity and introspection.
We learn that Quiet, the Art are a duo from Edinburgh, Scotland, who design their unique sound as “a take creating “an exciting take on post-rock and shoegaze”. The uniqueness is tangible, and has inspired us to explore the wider discography of the pair, namely their first four singles, And The Rains Came, Don’t Give Up Hope, Ghostly, and Nothing Grows Here Anymore. Naturally, we have added Monochrome to our New Music Spotlight playlist and our new TRIPPY playlist, whilst we anticipate future releases from Quiet, the Art!
