Drawing us in with an immersive, synth frequency and padded drums, Princess Liv opens On The Line with introspective prose and atmospheric vocals as she sings, “I keep it on the low, when I’m low down, never let it show, cos I don’t know how…”
The opus expands with intimate depth, as the rising popstar shares her soul and lived experience with us. We learn that On The Line touches upon “the desire to follow dead ends with old friends and flames, an aimless pursuit rooted in loneliness albeit paved with good intentions.”
We love the philosophical nature of Liv’s lyricism and the poetic prowess that she delivers with a cohesive accompaniment of mesmerizing production, particularly the dimensional bassline and the glistening, panning synthscape.
Princess Liv recently debuted On The Line live with an all-female band at the Resident DTLA, in an event produced by the Luna Collective, and is set to perform it live along with her next few singles at various shows in the LA and San Francisco areas throughout the coming months.
We learn that On The Line features bass from Grammy-winning Victor Broden, keys from touring keyboardist Cole Riddle, and was co-produced with Connor Small (Quiet Son), mixed by Trey Station (Larrabee Studios), and mastered by Justin Shturtz (Sterling Sound).
We appreciate the high emotional quotient that On The Line exudes, as well as its celestial, 80s adjacent finale, and have added the track to our New Music Spotlight playlist, as well as our brand new TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to stream Princess Liv’s wider discography, including Another Moon, and All Along.
