Our obsession with Giack Bazz started when we discovered his captivating and dimensional ode to our lunar satellite, The Moon Is Painted, so when we heard that the talented composer was back with FUNNY DAYS, we were curious, and couldn’t wait to listen and share our experience.
Kicking off with the title of the track and a strummed, astral guitar, Giack Bazz opens FUNNY DAYS with layered vocals and philosophical prose, needless to say, we are entirely captivated. The opus expands with textured drums and a timeless, Brit-pop adjacent soundscape to take us on an immersive and relatable journey.
FUNNY DAYS transcends eras and genres, and seamlessly blends the introspective lyricism of indie rock with the infectious melodies of Brit-pop, creating a sound that is both nostalgic and fresh. From the moment the immersive nature kicks in, listeners are transported to a world of sonic richness and depth, where each strum and riff adds layers of texture and emotion to the music.
The harmonized vocals further enhance FUNNY DAYS‘s ethereal quality, weaving a tapestry of sound that is mesmerizing. Amidst the lush instrumentation and captivating vocal harmonies, the standout moment of the track comes in the form of an incredible guitar solo that takes centre stage and elevates the song to new heights.
The solo is a masterclass in musical expression, showcasing Giack Bazz‘s technical skill and emotional depth in equal measure. With each note and bend, the guitar solo evokes a sense of passion and intensity that resonates with us, leaving a lasting impression long after the song has faded out.
When discussing the message of FUNNY DAYS, Giack Bazz leaves us with some wisdom, “When the world stops and you have to make important decisions: these days I better really do something with my life.”
The star’s album, Bedtime Stories For Computers is set to be released in July 2024 digitally, as a double orange gatefold vinyl. We love what Giack Bazz has to offer with his diverse sonic designs and cannot wait to experience the record in full, this Summer!
In the meantime, we have added FUNNY DAYS to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our new TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to anticipate the album, and stream the Sanremo Giovani shortlisted song, The Moon Is Painted.
