The opus expands with thought-provoking prose and layered choruses to take us on an immersive and dimensional journey. The message feels expansive and the cerebral guitar solos are captivating. We appreciate the melodic depth, fused with a more industrial vibe that taps into a multitude of sentiments for both artists and listeners.
The Moon Is Painted comes with a stunning music video with a version of the song in Italian. The cinematic visual features shots of two moons eclipsing, conceptual versions of the moon, marbles and and overarching sentiment of awe bringing to life the metaphorical nature of the song.
We learn from Giack Bazz that The Moon Is Painted is designed as a “Blade-Runner-esque wall of sound” to invite us to “think about the future that awaits humanity”. Giack Bazz further confesses that the song was first conceived on a Pocket Operator by Teenage Engineering. He says, “It started as a simple lead line, then developed with the band to feature a powerful chorus, led by the bass trombone hook and a choir of six singers.”
The Moon Is Painted marks a return to form for Giack Bazz, following a long silence. For his upcoming album, the songwriter has worked with two bands, as well as violins, trombones and flutes from the “Orchestra Filarmonica del Teatro Comunale di Bologna”.
The incoming record is aptly titled, Bedtime Stories For Computers, and is set to be released in July 2024 digitally, and as a double orange gatefold vinyl. Naturally, we have added The Moon Is Painted whilst we await the release of the album, and we continue to stream Giack Bazz‘s wider discography, including Come Te, and Rant.
