We previously featured Chandra for his inspiring and thought-provoking single, Smile (No Fox Gibbon), so when we heard that the talented creator was back with I’ll Be There, we couldn’t wait to listen and share our experience!
Drawing us in with a moody bass riff, Chandra opens I’ll Be There with epic guitar performances and an enigmatic energy, reiterating the pure genius and masterful approach to song creation that the artist has to offer.
The opus expands with introspective and zeitgeist prose as the talented Londoner sings, “Feels like the world’s crying every day, and every week there’s a war, but things can change and it starts within and that’s worth fighting for…”
We immediately connect with the philosophical depth and high emotional quotient of Chandra’s lyricism. His words reflect on the current state of reality and how peace starts within, for this sentiment alone, we are grateful.
With reference to his message, Chandra optimistically tells us, “I’ll Be There is a rallying cry to all the people who want to do something good for the world but feel powerless to act… too small to make a difference. In a time when the news of the world seems to become worse with every passing day it’s easy to become overwhelmed and despondent. I’ll Be There reminds us that the solutions to many of our problems start at home, with simple acts of friendship, love and kindness. We CAN do this.”
I’ll Be There comes with an art-pop, Warhol-inspired visual which showcases a magnetic performance from Chandra and his band, including an out of this world guitar solo. Speaking further on the release, the rising star says, “It is a little bit rockier than the past two singles but still has the DNA of what my music is all about; uplifting, euphoric, feel-good pop-rock that will have you singing along, throwing your hands in the air and smiling.”
Elaborating on his intention, Chandra adds, “In a nutshell this song is about empowerment. I struggle with the thought that I am so small and insignificant compared to the huge and awful things that are going on around me every single day. How can I, as one person, find the power to change anything? But the truth is ‘change’ begins at home and by simply taking small steps to be a better person and be there for the people around us, together, we can move mountains.”
We love the holistic depth of what Chandra delivers with his sound and message, and have added I’ll Be There to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our brand new TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to stream the star’s wider discography and anticipate future releases!
