We previously featured Giardini Oort for his cerebral and intentional track, Dark Thoughts, so when we heard that the talented creator was back with A Place Without Gravity, we were curious to say the least, and couldn’t wait to listen and share our experience.
Establishing the mood with an astral, panning frequency and emotive piano performance with trip-hop adjacent percussion nuance and industrial textures, Giardini Oort opens A Place Without Gravity with a dark wave vocal and the profound prose, “I can feel the darkness. I can see the light. Even if I’m floating free.”
The artist demonstrates poetic prowess and emotive nature as he shares his soul, coupled with the inclusion of tabla and Eastern drum design, showcasing the more expansive energy that the talented creator has to offer.
The soundscape is exquisite, and we are fully immersed within his conceptual universe. Spoken word details, akin to a space tanoy, invite us further into the composer’s cosmic reality, before the return of a stunning tabla performance, looping perfectly back into the track.
Speaking on the release, Giardini Oort says, “A Place Without Gravity beckons listeners into an ethereal realm where the physical bounds of existence gently unravel, allowing a unique exploration of the spaces between darkness and light.”
He adds, “A Place Without Gravity is an auditory passage designed for those who seek to transcend the mundane, to find solace and beauty in the vastness of their inner universe. Drawing inspiration from the introspective depth of artists like Nine Inch Nails and the tranquil realms of ambient music, this piece is a meditation on the nature of existence, a reflection on the delicate balance of the seen and unseen.”
We love Giardini Oort‘s message and compositional mastery, and have added A Place Without Gravity to our New Music Spotlight playlist and our TRIPPY playlist, whilst we continue to stream his wider discography, and anticipate future releases from the visionary creator.
